The Infinix Smart 5A has been confirmed to launch on August 2 on Flipkart. The smartphone appears to be a budget segment device, offering an HD resolution display and a rear mounted physical fingerprint sensor, among other features. This will mark the latest budget smartphone to launch in India, ahead of a busy period during which multiple device launches are expected through August.
Infinix Smart 5A: key specifications
The Infinix Smart 5A is now confirmed to feature a 6.52-inch HD+ display, with a drop notch to accommodate the front camera. The bezels at the chin of the device is imaginably thicker than the rest, and the rear comes with a physical fingerprint sensor. The rear panel also features a textured gradient colour design, which Infinix has called ‘Prism Flow’. It has three colour choices — Midnight Black, Quetzal Cyan and Ocean Wave, with the latter two being slightly varying gradient shades of blue. Infinix has also confirmed that the Smart 5A will measure 8.7mm in thickness, and weigh 183 grams.
The Smart 5A display is rated to offer 500 nits of brightness, and a 5,000mAh battery powers the entire setup. Infinix claims that this should provide 19 hours of HD video playback, 16 hours of web browsing time and 13 hours of gaming life. As the device’s images reveal, the Infinix Smart 5A features a dual rear camera in what looks like a triple camera module, with a dummy unit in the camera module added — possibly for cost cutting reasons. Reports expect this to be a 13MP + 2MP camera configuration. Other features include a microUSB port, and in terms of performance, speculations expect the phone to feature a MediaTek Helio G25 SoC, along with 2GB RAM and 32GB storage.
The Infinix Smart 5A is expected to come with exclusive Reliance Jio offers, and is confirmed to sell on Flipkart. The smartphone will also feature a partnership with Reliance Jio, where a discount of Rs 550 will apply on the phone if users sign up for using Jio in the primary slot of the phone. More details should come our way soon, once Infinix launches the device in the coming week.
