
Apple has rolled out the iOS 18.4 update, which finally supports Apple Intelligence features in Indian languages. This includes English (India), Hindi, and a mix of English+Hindi. The update also brings new productivity features for rewriting and summarizing text and sketching in Image Playground. Here’s everything new with the iOS 18.4 update in India.

Apple Intelligence features with Indian languages are now also available on MacBooks and iPads with M-Series chips with the latest macOS 15.4 and iPad OS 18.4 updates, respectively.
iOS 18.4 Update: How to Enable Apple Intelligence Features in Indian Languages
After updating to iOS 18.4, you can set Apple Intelligence features to Indian languages by going to Settings > Apple Intelligence and Siri > Enable Apple Intelligence > Language.
Currently, you can use these features in English (India), Hindi, and English+Hindi or Hinglish.
Note that you can speak to the upgraded conversational Siri in Marathi, hindi, Tamil, Bangla, Malayalam, Kannada, and varuious other languages. But Apple Intelligence features are limited to Indian English and Hindi.
iOS 18.4 Update: All New Features
In addition to Apple Intelligence in local Indian languages, the iOS 18.4 update brings several new features:
- Priority Notifications: iPhones will now show important notifications at the top of the list by analysing them. It will prioritize notifications that require your immediate attention.
- Sketch in Image Playground: You can now draw sketches in the Image Playground and get creative with your drawings while utilising generative AI features.
- Rewrite and Summarize Text: As the iOS 18.4 update adds support for Indian languages, you can use it to rewrite text samples. It can also summarize long texts using AI.
- AI Search in Photos App: You can now search for images and videos stored on your iPhone by using text prompts. You simply have to describe the media, after which your iPhone will analyse the stored media to show you relevant results.
- New Emojis: The update also brings seven new emoji icons, which can be used in iMessage and other social media apps.
- New System languages: You can now set the system language of iPhone to Marathi, Bangla, Gujarati, Kannada, Malayalam, odia, Punjabi, Tamil, Telugu, and Urdu.
Apple has also fixed some bugs with the iOS 18.4 update. This includes a fix related to search in Safari, improved summaries in App Store, pause and resume the download of an app, and more. The update is available on all iPhones launched after the iPhone Xr.
