Apple iPhone 16e recently went official as its most affordable iPhone offering in the iPhone 16 lineup. The device’s pre-orders will begin later today, with the sale set to start on Feb. 28. Ahead of its release date, we have come across a Geekbench listing of the device that reveals its key specifications.
Apple’s official listing for its iPhones never mentions the RAM capacities. The iPhone 15 series came with 6GB of RAM, but the company upgraded the iPhone 16 series by offering 8GB of RAM. The Geekbench listing of the device has finally revealed the RAM that’s available on the iPhone 16e.

A new iPhone with model identifier “iPhone 17,5” has emerged in Geekbench’s database. This is nothing but the recently unveiled iPhone 16e. The Geekbench listing states that the device is equipped with iOS 18.3.1, a 6-core CPU—which is nothing but the Apple A18—and also reveals that it has 8GB of RAM.
The inclusion of 8GB of RAM is unsurprising, as it is the minimum requirement to run Apple Intelligence on an iPhone. For reference, the iPhone 15 series featured 6GB of RAM, but Apple upgraded the iPhone 16 series to 8GB to support Apple Intelligence.
Readers should note that while the iPhone 16e features the Apple A18 chip like the rest of the iPhone 16 series, it is not exactly the same. Instead, the A18 on the iPhone 16e has one less GPU core, featuring a 4-core GPU, whereas the other iPhone 16 models come with a 5-core GPU.
The binned version of the A18 chip on the iPhone 16e is expected to deliver similar performance in everyday tasks. However, there could be a noticeable difference in graphics-intensive applications like gaming.
The only remaining mystery about the iPhone 16e is its battery capacity, as Apple typically states how long the battery will last but does not mention the actual mAh size. The company claims that the iPhone 16e can last up to 6 hours longer than the iPhone 11 and up to 12 hours longer than the iPhone SE. Hopefully, upcoming reports will also reveal the iPhone 16e’s actual battery capacity.
