iPhone 17 Pro Display Upgrade Rumoured

This information comes from leaker @jukanlosreve on X, who claims that the iPhone 17 Pro and iPhone 17 Pro Max will use a new display technology called “Low-Dielectric TEE”, which is said to improve battery efficiency, maximize display durability, and enhance performance.

The leaker further clarifies that the Low-Dielectric TEE technology differs from LTPO+, another display technology previously rumoured to be featured on upcoming iPhones. There isn’t much information available at the moment about the Low-Dielectric TEE technology. There’s also no word on whether or not this will reach the non-Pro models. However, those are expected to support Apple’s ProMotion display too.

For those who don’t know, the current iPhone Pro models have an LTPO display but the non-Pro models lack that. To learn more about an LTPO display, check out our explainer article.

In another set of iPhone 17 Pro leaks, it is claimed that Apple will continue to use titanium frames for the iPhone 17 Pro and iPhone 17 Pro Max. Previously reported plans suggesting a return to aluminium frames may not materialize.

It remains too early to confirm whether the phones will feature the Low-Dielectric TEE display or titanium frames. The iPhone 17 series is expected to launch in September 2025, and since this is far away, more details are anticipated through future leaks and rumours. So, stay tuned for more details.
