Apple has been long-rumoured to launch the next iPhone SE and the latest report by 9to5Google has revealed its key details, along with the expected launch timeline, which could be next year. Here’s what to expect.
iPhone SE 4: All We Know So Far
The upcoming iPhone SE 4 could have the V59 codename and will serve as the entry-level iPhone. Apple will depart from the traditional home button design and opt for an edge-to-edge screen design.
The phone will retain the single rear camera from its predecessors, which could be a 48MP snapper with 2x in-sensor zoom, along with a 12MP selfie camera.
The iPhone SE 4 is also said to be the first Apple smartphone to launch with the brand’s proprietary 5G modem. The wireless modem will be codenamed Centauri and will also support Wi-Fi, Bluetooth, and GPS. The proprietary model will help the upcoming Apple iPhones consume less battery and will sport better integration with the hardware. The phone could also have the Apple Intelligence features out of the box.
It is said that the SE 4 will flaunt a 6.1-inch OLED display with a screen resolution of 1,170 x 2532 pixels and a traditional notch. It will be powered by the A18 SoC paired with 8GB of RAM, which will allow the device to support Apple Intelligence features. The A18 SoC on the upcoming iPhone SE is said to be similar to the latest iPhone 16 series, which came with a five-core GPU.
While there’s no word on the pricing, the iPhone SE 4 could be more expensive than the previous model. Since we lack concrete details, it would be best to take these details with a grain of salt until something official pops up. So, stay tuned for more information.
