MediaTek has officially announced its Dimensity 9400e processor. It is the successor to the Dimensity 9300+ from last year. The new chip features an all-big core design with a Prime Core, a GPU with ray-tracing support, and improved on-device AI capabilities. Realme has also confirmed that it will launch the Realme GT 7 globally with the Dimensity 9400e on May 27. Here’s everything that you should know about the new flagship MediaTek processor.

MediaTek Dimensity 9400e: What’s New?

The MediaTek Dimensity 9400e is an octa-core processor featuring an all-big core design. It is based on TSMC’s 3rd-gen 4nm architecture. The chip has 1x Cortex-X4 Prime core, 3x Cortex-X4, and 4x Cortex-A720 cores. It supports maximum clock speeds of up to 3.4GHz.

The Dimensity 9400e features the Immortalis-G720 MC12 GPU. It supports hardware-accelerated ray tracing in gaming. The GPU also integrates MediaTek Adaptive Gaming Technology and Frame Rate Converter that dynamically boost the frame rate and improve gaming performance in real-time. It is capable of 120fps gaming.

MediaTek has also brought its NeuroPilot SDK to the Dimensity 9400e. This enables the Dimensity 9400e to run large language models like DeepSeek-R1-Distill, Gemini Nano with Multimodality, etc., locally on the device. These will be powered by the MediaTek APU 790.

The Dimensity 9400e features the Imagiq 990 18-bit ISP, which uses AI semantic segmentation for better video processing. It also supports noise reduction in audio captured from the microphone.

The new MediaTek chip also has 5G connectivity. It is capable of maximum download speeds of up to 7.3 Gbps. Connectivity options include WiFi 7, Bluetooth 6.0, GPS, and NavIC.

Specifications suggest that the Dimensity 9400e has not changed much from the Dimensity 9300+. However, MediaTek has brought some changes to the SDK (Software Development Kit), which makes it easier for smartphone OEMs to integrate their AI-powered and gaming features. The Dimensity 9400 continues to be the top-end chip from MediaTek.

Realme GT 7 Global Launch With Dimensity 9400e

Realme has officially announced that it will launch the Realme GT 7 globally on May 27, including India. It will be among the first mainstream devices to feature the Dimensity 9400e. The company has also confirmed that the phone will feature a 7000mAh battery with 120W fast charging. This is the largest battery capacity on a GT-Series device.

To recall, the Realme GT 7 was recently launched in China with the Dimensity 9400+. However, the global version with Dimensity 9400e suggests that the company will target the flagship killer segment, similar to what we saw with the Realme GT 6T.

Apart from the processor, the global variant of the Realme GT 7 is expected to feature the same specifications as its Chinese counterpart. Here’s a quick summary of what to expect:

  • Display: 6.78-inch AMOLED, 1.5K resolution, 144Hz refresh rate, 6500 nits peak brightness.
  • Processor: MediaTek Dimensity 9400e.
  • RAM and Storage: 8GB+128GB, 8GB+256GB, 12GB+256GB.
  • Software: Realme UI 6.0 based on Android 15.
  • Rear cameras: 50MP primary with OIS, 8MP ultrawide lens.
  • Front camera: 16MP.
  • Battery and charging: 7000mAh, 120W fast charging.
  • Other features: In-display fingerprint scanner, IP69 rating, stereo speakers, infrared sensor.

OnePlus has also announced that the OnePlus Ace5 Series will feature the Dimensity 9400e. The OnePlus Ace5 Racing Edition is scheduled to launch next week in China. There’s no word on an Indian or global release.

OnePlus said that its Ace5 Racing Edition phone will offer the best gaming performance under CNY 2500 (approx Rs 29,500). Hence, we can expect phones with Dimensity 9400e to be priced between Rs 30,000 – 40,000.
