Motorola seems to be gearing up for the launch of the Moto G86. The price and colour options have already leaked online. New renders have now emerged, revealing the design and key features of Motorola‘s upcoming mid-range device. The Moto G86 succeeds the Moto G85, which featured a Snapdragon 6s Gen 3 processor and a dual rear camera setup with a 50-megapixel Sony sensor and optical image stabilisation.
Moto G86: Design and features
The Moto G86 looks quite similar to Motorola’s Edge lineup of smartphones. The camera island in particular resembles the one found on the Moto Edge 60 Fusion, which was launched in India a few days ago. The slightly raised, squirish module, placed on the top left of the rear panel, houses three camera sensors and an LED flash.
The renders indicate that the Moto G86 will feature a flat display with slim bezels and a centrally placed hole-punch cutout for the selfie camera. The power and volume buttons are located on the right side, while the bottom edge houses a USB Type-C port and a speaker grille. The SIM card slot is located on the left edge. Additionally, the presence of the Dolby Atmos logo on the top edge indicates that the phone’s speakers will support Dolby Atmos audio.
The renders appear in a report by NieuweMobiel.nl. In addition to the dark blue and purple shades seen in the leaked images, the report claims the Moto G86 will also be sold in gold and red colour options. The blue variant appears to feature a vegan leather back, while the purple one reportedly uses a cloth-like material that is ‘a mix of felt and textile’.
Moto G86: Expected specifications
The report also reveals that the triple camera setup at the back will include a 50-megapixel unspecified Sony Lytia sensor. Last year’s Moto G85, in comparison, had a dual camera setup with a 50-megapixel Sony Lytia 600 sensor.
Past leaks also indicate the Moto G86 will come with 8GB of RAM and 256GB of storage, and could be priced at EUR 330 (around ₹31,200). Given that the Moto G85 debuted in India at Rs. 17,999, the Moto G86 is expected to be priced close to Rs. 20,000 when it arrives in the country.
