OnePlus has officially announced the launch of its upcoming Nord 5 series in India, which includes the OnePlus Nord 5, OnePlus Nord CE5, and the new OnePlus Buds 4. The products will be unveiled on July 8, 2025, at 2 PM IST. With this launch, the company is bringing some major upgrades to its mid-range segment, including the first-ever Snapdragon 8 series chipset in a Nord device, and more.
OnePlus Nord 5 will be the first Nord series phone powered by the Snapdragon 8s Gen 3 Mobile, which is built on a 4nm architecture with a flagship Kryo CPU. It comes with LPDDR5X RAM and supports Snapdragon Elite Gaming, with hardware-accelerated real-time ray tracing. BGMI gameplay is supported at native 90fps, with frame interpolation up to 144fps, and Call of Duty: Mobile runs natively at 144fps.
The thermal system includes Cryo-Velocity VC cooling with a 7,300 mm² heat dissipation area. It features flagship-grade graphene thermals (1,800W/m-K efficiency) similar to the OnePlus 13 and cooling covers all major heat sources: CPU, camera, and battery
OnePlus Nord CE5 is officially confirmed to launch alongside Nord 5. However, no hardware details for this phone are known yet.
The company will also be launching the OnePlus Buds 4, which will features Dual Drivers and Dual DACs and support Hi-Res LHDC 5.0 and 3D Audio. It offers 47ms ultra-low latency in Game Mode. These will be available in Zen Green and Storm Gray.
Key details, such as pricing, battery capacity, display specifications, camera setup, and storage variants for both the Nord 5 and Nord CE5, have not been disclosed yet. More information is expected to be revealed closer to the launch date.
What we think about these upcoming phones
This is the first time a OnePlus Nord phone is getting a Snapdragon 8 series chipset, typically reserved for flagship models. The inclusion of real-time ray tracing and high refresh rate gaming positions the Nord 5 as a strong option for mobile gamers.
The thermal system is on par with the flagship OnePlus 13, indicating a shift in focus toward sustained performance. OnePlus Buds 4 also bring notable upgrades to the audio segment, with features usually found in higher-end earbuds. With these upgrades, the Nord series is set to blur the lines between mid-range and flagship categories in 2025.
