Update (23/06/2020, 01:00 PM IST):
The Xiaomi M2006J10C that we had earlier spotted on 3C and speculated to be the Redmi K40 has now been certified through the MIIT platform. The MIIT listing of the Redmi K40 reveals that the phone has 5G connectivity.
The original story follows…
The Redmi K30 5G made its debut in December last year. Considering that Xiaomi refreshes the K-series lineup of smartphones every six months, it is about time that we see a successor to the Redmi K30 5G, which, given the brand’s history of naming convention, could be dubbed as the Redmi K40 5G. Well, we have now spotted a new smartphone from Xiaomi on 3C, which, we think, is the Redmi K40 5G.
Possible Redmi K40 5G spotted 3C
The 3C certification of the Xiaomi smartphone that we have come across today is for the model M2006J10C.
The certification reveals that the M2006J10C comes with an MDY-11-EX charger. Now, this is the same charger that is being offered with the Redmi K30 Pro 5G. This suggests that the Xiaomi M2006J10C is related to the Redmi K30 Pro 5G. Could the M2006J10C be a successor to the Redmi K30 Pro 5G? Well, we don’t think so because the successor to the Redmi K30 Pro 5G would come with an even faster charging option.
That being said, it is highly possible that the M2006J10C is the Redmi K40 5G. And how is that? Well, Xiaomi might offer the Redmi K40 5G with the charging speed of the Redmi K30 Pro 5G and equip the Redmi K40 Pro 5G with an even faster charging option. If what we are speculating is true, the M2006J10C is most probably the Redmi K40 5G.
The 3C listing of the M2006J10C, which, we are now speculating to be the Redmi K40 5G, reveals that the phone has 5G connectivity, just like the Redmi K30 5G, which further suggests that the M2006J10C is the Redmi K40 5G. Hopefully, we will know more about the device as the launch nears.
