Xiaomi revealed that the company would be launching Redmi Note 12 series globally on March 21. The Chinese OEM has already launched smartphones in China and India. A new Redmi Note 12 series smartphone was listed in FCC recently. The listing revealed that the smartphone would be launched as Redmi Note 12S. The smartphone is said to be a successor to the Redmi Note 11S with minor upgrades. Ahead of the global launch of the Note 12 series, the smartphone has also been listed (via) in EEC (Europe Economic Community) certification. The recent certifications indicate that the smartphone will be launched soon globally.
What do We Know About the Forthcoming Redmi Note 12S Smartphone?
The upcoming Redmi Note 12S has been listed in EEC with the model number 2303CRA44A. The EEC listing doesn’t reveal anything apart from the model number. Previously, the device was listed in FCC with the same model number. The FCC listing revealed that it would support 67W fast charging tech.
Xiaomi will bundle the upcoming smartphone with an MDY-14-EU/EK/EL charger. The documents also revealed that the specifications would be similar to 2201117SG, which attributes to Redmi Note 11S. The FCC listing also revealed the smartphone images, which look identical to its predecessor.
The images revealed a centred punch-hole and a rectangular camera module. The upcoming smartphone seems like an updated version of Note 11S with an improved fast charging speed. Tipster Mukul Sharma also confirmed that the smartphone wouldn’t have 5G connectivity. However, there are no reports of Xiaomi launching the smartphone in India.
Redmi Note 11S Specifications
Redmi Note 11S was unveiled in January 2022 with a 6.43-inches AMOLED panel. The panel had a refresh rate of 90Hz, a Full HD+ resolution, a peak brightness of 1000 nits and gets protection from Corning Gorilla Glass 3. The smartphone is equipped with MediaTek Helio G96 SoC, built on the 12nm process. It runs on MIUI 13 based on Android 11 out of the box.
The chipset pairs with up to 8GB of RAM and 128GB of UFS 2.2 storage. Xiaomi had equipped the smartphone with a quad-camera setup on the rear. The setup consists of a primary 108MP sensor with f/1.9 aperture and PDAF. An 8MP ultra-wide-angle sensor, a 2MP macro sensor and a 2MP depth sensor accompany the primary sensor. The centred punch hole in the display housed the 16MP sensor. The smartphone is backed by a large 5000 mAh battery with 33W fast charging tech.
