Apple’s new and revamped Siri powered by Apple Intelligence is expected to debut in the spring of 2025. Mark Gurman of Bloomberg has mentioned the estimated release timeline in his weekly newsletter PowerOn. This means users will have to wait a little longer to enjoy the new capabilities of the more powerful Siri. Also do note that Apple Intelligence will only to come to the iPhone 15 Pro and 15 Pro Max.

Siri with Apple Intelligence Beta Testing in January 2025

Gurman’s report mentions Apple is expected to begin the new Siri beta testing with developers in January. The test will be part of the iOS 18.4 release, which is already in development. The new Siri should become available to the public sometime during the spring of 2025.

The good news is that some of the new Siri features, like the new design and ChatGPT integration, should arrive this year. However, users will have to wait for the more advanced features, which include on-screen content awareness, contextual awareness, and in-app controls, among others.

Advanced Siri: What’s New?

Apple showcased the new and advanced Siri at WWDC 2024 while it unveiled iOS 18. Siri now has a new logo and animation to reflect when it is in action representing the new era. It will show a glow around the display’s edges whenever you are using the virtual assistant.

The new Siri will feature Apple Intelligence integration to make it faster, smarter, and better than before. It will help you remember the conversation and context so that you can communicate in a natural tone. Third-party app integration will help you do things you previously could not—for example, looking for a particular photo and sharing it with others.

Apple has further collaborated with ChatGPT to improve Siri. While it can do many of its tasks locally on a device, there will be instances when it will need to be online and communicate with servers. Apple says it will notify users whenever such situations arise and it will be up to users whether they want to proceed.

The newly revamped Siri certainly looks intriguing on paper, but we will have to see how useful and fast it is in the real world.
