Samsung has already launched both devices, the Galaxy A05 and Galaxy A05s in Malaysia and the Philippines. Hence, we already have a good idea of what to expect from the upcoming Samsung mid-ranger.
Samsung Galaxy A05 Specifications
The Samsung Galaxy A05 will feature a 6.7-inch LCD screen with a 720p resolution. It will have a refresh rate of 60Hz, along with a waterdrop notch design. The device will sport a plastic unibody design.
The Galaxy A05 will be powered by the Mediatek Helio G85 processor. Hence, it will be a 4G-only device, as the chipset does not support 5G connectivity. The device will offer two storage configurations, 4GB+64GB and 6GB+128GB, and will run on OneUI Core 5.1 based on Android 13.
The Galaxy A05 will sport a dual rear camera setup, consisting of a 50MP primary camera, and a 2MP depth sensor. It misses out on the 2MP macro lens, from the Galaxy A05s. The selfie camera on the Galaxy A05 will be a 13MP sensor.
The battery capacity of the Galaxy A05 will remain the same as its cousin. The device will run on a 5000mAh battery with support for 25W charging. The Galaxy A05 comes with a 3.5mm headphone jack, along with a USB-C port.
Talking about the differences between the two phones, the Galaxy A05 uses a lower resolution screen and misses out on a third rear camera. The biggest difference is in the processor segment, where the Galaxy A05 comes with the Helio G85, and the Galaxy A05s has the Snapdragon 680.
The Snapdragon variant is potentially better than its Mediatek counterpart, with a performance difference of almost 20%. Hence, the Galaxy A05 is more affordable and is priced lower than the Galaxy A05s.
Samsung has not yet confirmed the launch date of the Galaxy A05 in India. Considering the budget nature of the phone, the company could silently launch this event, without any major events or promotions.
