Samsung is all set to launch its latest budget offering called the Galaxy A16 5G. Today, we have spotted this upcoming smartphone on the BIS (Bureau of Indian Standards) website. It will succeed the Galaxy A15, which was launched in December last year. Here’s everything you need to know about:

The device appeared with the SM-A166P/DS model number. Here, the DS represents the upcoming device with dual SIM support. Apart from that, it doesn’t reveal any other device specifications. But it surely indicates that the launch is inching closer.

We have already spotted Samsung’s upcoming budget offering on multiple certification websites, like the 3C, which confirmed the presence of a 4860mAh battery, which will likely be promoted as 5000mAh. Apart from that it appeared on other websites like Bluetooth SIG, IMEI, and UK Carrier database.
Geekbench scores for two different Galaxy A16 5G models have also surfaced. One variant, possibly destined for Asian or African markets, is equipped with the Exynos 1330 5G chipset. The other model features the MediaTek Dimensity 6300 processor. Interestingly, the Exynos-powered version outperformed its Dimensity counterpart in benchmark tests.
While Samsung hasn’t officially announced pricing details, it’s expected that the Galaxy A16 will be priced competitively with its predecessor, around the Rs 17,000 mark. If this is the case, the device will likely face stiff competition from other smartphones in the same price range, such as the CMF Phone 1, iQOO Z9, and POCO X6 5G.
