Samsung Galaxy S25 Series Could be Powered by Qualcomm SoC

The analyst reveals that Qualcomm will be the sole SoC supplier for the upcoming Galaxy S25 smartphones. It implies that Samsung will equip the upcoming Galaxy S series with the Qualcomm Snapdragon 8 Gen 4 SoC worldwide.

In most countries, Samsung launched the vanilla Galaxy S24 and Galaxy S24+ with the Exynos 2400 SoC. However, due to the lower-than-expected 3nm yield for the Exynos 2500 SoC, Samsung has switched to Qualcomm for the Galaxy S25 series, according to the analyst.

The upcoming flagship Qualcomm Snapdragon 8 Gen 4 SoC will be unveiled at the Qualcomm Snapdragon Summit 2024 on October 21 in Hawaii. Qualcomm is said to increase the price of the upcoming flagship chipset by between 25% and 30%.

The price increase could benefit the firm, as it will be the sole supplier for the Galaxy S25 series. TSMC will also benefit from Samsung’s decision, as they are using the 3nm N3E process to manufacture the Qualcomm Snapdragon 8 Gen 4 SoC.

Qualcomm officials have confirmed the chipset will sport the Qualcomm Oryon and a new NPU (Neutral Processing Unit) for improved processing. The Snapdragon 8 Gen 4 chipset is said to have a peak clock speed of 4GHz with two prime cores and six high-performance cores.

The chipset will sport an Adreno 830 GPU, which is said to surpass the Apple M2 chipset. Samsung is expected to equip its next-gen flagship smartphones with an overclocked variant of the chipset, which could be known as the Qualcomm Snapdragon 8 Gen 4 Made for Galaxy SoC.
