Earlier this year during the Galaxy S25 Series launch, Samsung confirmed that it is working on a tri-folding smartphone. The company was also said to release the Galaxy Z Flip FE as an affordable flip-style foldable. However, a new report has surfaced online that suggests that the launch of Galaxy Tri Fold and Galaxy Z Flip FE could be delayed to the second half of 2025.
Samsung Galaxy Tri-Fold, Galaxy Z Flip FE: Expected Launch Date
The latest report from The Bell, a renowned South Korean publication, mentions that Samsung plans to launch the Galaxy Tri-Fold and Galaxy Z Flip FE in Q4 2025. The phones were expected to launch sooner alongside the Galaxy Z Fold 7 and the Z Flip 7.
The delay has reportedly occurred due to problems faced by Samsung Foundry in the yield of its in-house Exynos 2500 processor. To recall, Samsung skipped using Exynos chips for its Galaxy S25 Series in favour of the Snapdragon 8 Elite for similar reasons.
Previous reports indicated that Samsung may launch the Galaxy Z Flip FE with the Exynos 2400e chip, the same processor used on the Galaxy S24 FE. However, the company is believed to be favouring the Exynos 2500 as it is expected to introduce a huge boost in GPU performance.
Samsung has not revealed anything from its end yet. So far, the company has only confirmed the launch of a tri-folding device in 2025, which was showcased in the yearly timeline during the Galaxy S25 Series launch.
Samsung Galaxy Tri-Fold: What We Know So Far
Samsung originally showcased the concept of its tri-fold device at CES 2022 using a prototype unit. However, it was a large-sized screen, and the company referred to it as the Flex S tablet. The same technology is expected to be used in a smaller form factor on the upcoming Galaxy Tri-Fold, with obvious refinements.
Reports suggest that the Galaxy Tri-Fold smartphone could debut under the Galaxy G Fold branding, which is said to be more expensive than the mainline Samsung foldables. The device will feature a 9.96-inch display with an inward folding mechanism. The weight could be as high as 298 grams.
Not much is known about the Galaxy Tri-Fold as of now. We will keep you updated with the same, so stay tuned.
