The Redmi 12 series has officially launched in India along with the Redmi Watch 3 Active and Xiaomi TV X series. The Redmi 12 series is priced competitively, and the brand claims to offer a ‘5G Revolution’. The lineup comprises the Redmi 12 4G and Redmi 12 5G variants. The 4G variant was already launched in global markets with the MediaTek Helio G88 processor. On the other hand, the Redmi Note 12 5G made its global debut in India and is powered by the Snapdragon 4 Gen 2 SoC. Redmi 12 Series Price in India, Availability
Redmi 12 4G will be available across Mi.com, Flipkart, Mi Home, Mi Studio, and authorized retail partners. The Redmi 12 5G comes in Moonstone Silver, Pastel Blue, and Jade Black colours. The base variant for the 4G variant starts at Rs 8,999, whereas the Redmi 12 5G starts at Rs 10,999. These are net effective price including bank offers and exchange bonus for Xiaomi users. Both smartphones go on sale in India starting August 4 at 12 noon.

Redmi 12 Series Specifications, Features
The Redmi 12 4G and 5G variants are nearly identical in specifications, except for the processors powering them. The MediaTek Helio G88 powers the 4G variant, whereas the 5G variant comes as the first Snapdragon 4 Gen 2 phone in India, which is the segment’s first 4nm processor. These smartphones have a 6.79-inch LCD panel with an FHD+ screen resolution and Corning Gorilla Glass protection. The display also flaunts a 90Hz refresh rate, 240Hz touch-sampling rate, and 450 nits of peak brightness.
The brand is offering these smartphones with up to 8GB LPDDR4X RAM, up to 8GB virtual RAM, and 256GB storage. They also come with support for expandable storage of up to 1TB via microSD card. Out of the box, the Redmi 12 4G and 5G boot Android 13-based MIUI 14. Powering the smartphones is a 5,000mAh battery with support for 18W fast charging, and the brand is providing a fast charger in the box.
Coming to the camera department, there’s a triple camera setup on the rear panel of the Redmi 12. The primary camera on the 4G model is a 50-megapixel lens backed by an 8-megapixel ultrawide and a 2-megapixel macro lens. On the other hand, the 5G model features a dual camera setup with the same primary lens but backed with a 2-megapixel depth sensor.
