Motorola has launched a new budget smartphone in India. The Motorola Moto E40, which was unveiled earlier this month in international markets, comes to India as a budget smartphone under Rs 10,000. It has a Unisoc processor under the hood and packs a large battery as well. The smartphone competes against the likes of the Realme Narzo 50A, Redmi 10 Prime and Motorola’s own Moto G30. Motorola Moto E40 price in India

The Motorola Moto E40 launched in India arrives in a single storage configuration. The device has 4GB of RAM under the hood and 64GB of internal storage. It is priced at Rs 9,499. The phone comes in two colours – Carbon Gray and Pink Clay. Motorola’s latest budget smartphone goes on sale starting October 17 via Flipkart.

Specs and features

The Moto E40 sports a 6.5-inch IPS LCD with an HD+ resolution. The screen has fairly thin bezels, except for the chin which is slightly thick. The screen also has a hole-punch cutout at the top centre, resulting in more screen estate. It houses an 8MP front camera sensor inside the hole-punch cutout. The budget smartphone also comes with support for a 90Hz refresh rate.

Under the hood, the phone draws power from a Unisoc T700 SoC. It is paired with up to 4GB of RAM and 64GB of internal storage. The phone’s storage can be further increased by up to 512GB via a microSD card. It packs a massive 5000mAh battery with support for 10W charging. The device comes with a USB Type-C port at the bottom edge. Motorola claims that the phone offers up to two days worth of juice on a single charge.

On the back, the phone has a triple-camera setup. The camera array houses a 48MP primary camera sensor. It does not have an ultrawide sensor but features two 2MP sensors for macro and depth sensing.

The E40 runs Android 11-based MyUX out of the box. It comes with a rear-mounted fingerprint scanner and face unlock support as well. Lastly, the phone has a dedicated Google Assistant key on the right side of the frame. It weighs 198 grams and is 9.1mm thick.
