Even though Motorola’s budget lineup of E-Series smartphones may not be doing so well in emerging markets, they remain quite popular in other markets like North America and Europe. Motorola’s last refresh of the E-series lineup here in India came in the form of the Motorola E5, the E5 Plus, and the Moto E6s. In the U.S. and some other markets, they have already started selling the newer Moto E6. And it looks likes they have more in store for these markets from the ever-growing E-Series lineup. Images of what is thought to be of the new Moto E6 Play were recently leaked by a Dutch blog MobielKopen. Moto E6 Play: What we know so far
From the renders of the Moto E6 Play, we can see that the phone features an old-school 16:9 display. By the looks of it, the panel is a basic LCD panel with HD resolution. The phone has thick bezels and looks pretty dated in terms of the overall design language. But then this is a very affordable device targeted at users on a strict budget. As expected, the handset features a single rear-facing camera and, surprisingly, an LED flash for low light situations. Underneath the Motorola logo, the phone also integrates a fingerprint sensor. The phone comes with a standard MicroUSB port at the bottom for wired connectivity, and at the top, there is a 3.5mm jack to connect audio equipment. The renders indicate that the Moto E6 Play will be offered in blue and black color options, with both of them getting a gradient finish at the rear. As far as the rest of the specifications of this product is concerned, the leak does not talk about them at all. There is no doubt, however, that the E6 Play will feature an entry-level processor – most likely from MediaTek. It will also be offered in 2GB/3GB and 16GB/32GB storage options.
Moto E6 Play: Expected launch date, will it launch in India?
As of now, we do not have any clear indication of a possible launch of the Moto E6 Play in India. Current rumors point towards the possibility of the Moto E6 Play launching alongside the Moto G8 series (which includes the Moto G8 Play and the Moto G8 Plus) at an event in Brazil on October 24.
