Motorola Edge 40 India Launch Date Set for May 23; Key Specifications Teased

Motorola, earlier this month, introduced the Moto Edge 40 smartphone in the European market. MySmartPrice, a couple of days ago, exclusively reported that the company’s latest Edge series handset will make its way to the Indian market later this month. Now, Motorola has started announcing the Moto Edge 40 India launch date.

Motorola took to social media channels to share the teaser video for the Moto Edge 40 India launch and revealed that Moto Edge 40 will launch on May 23 in the country. Like other Motorola handsets, the upcoming Moto Edge 40 will be sold exclusively via Flipkart. Take a look at the brand’s social media post.

MySmartPrice had exclusively reported that the Moto Edge 40 India launch event would be hosted in May. The Flipkart micro-site has confirmed that the Moto Edge 40 will launch in Nebula Green, Lunar Blue, and Eclipse Black colour options in the Indian market, which was earlier exclusively revealed by us.

The Moto Edge 40 Viva Magenta colour option, available in Europe, will be launched later in the country. Let us quickly recap the Moto Edge 40 specifications and features.

The Moto Edge 40 offers a 6.55-inch curved OLED display with a Full HD+ resolution, 144Hz refresh rate, and 1200 nits peak brightness. The latest Edge series smartphone is powered by a MediaTek Dimensity 8020 processor, which brings an integrated Mali G77 GPU, 8GB LPDDR4X RAM, and 256GB UFS 3.1 storage. The handset boots the latest version of Google’s Android, which is Android 13.

The Moto Edge 40 comes equipped with a 50MP primary rear shooter that features OIS support and gets paired with a 13MP ultra-wide-angle lens. The ultra-wide-angle lens on the device also doubles as a macro sensor. The selfies and video calls on the latest Edge series smartphone are taken care of by a 32MP front shooter.

A 4600mAh battery unit backs the Moto Edge 40. It supports 68W TubroPower fast charging over a Type-C port. The handset also supports 15W wireless charging and 5W reverse wireless charging. It also offers a stereo speaker setup with Dolby Atmos audio. On the security front, it offers an in-display fingerprint scanner.

The Moto Edge 40 weighs around 170 grams and measures 158.43 × 71.99 × ~7.58mm. The latest Edge series smartphone also features an IP68 rating, making it dust and water-resistant. In addition, it offers a stereo speaker setup with Dolby Atmos audio. The smartphone also features e-SIM support.
