Motorola announced the Moto Edge S smartphone back in January for the Chinese market. It is the first smartphone that comes with Snapdragon 870 5G chipset. Several reports had indicated in the past that Motorola is planning to launch this handset globally under the Moto G-series branding. The phone is supposed to be announced as the Moto G100 globally. In the latest development, Motorola now has given a clear indication that this device is coming to the global market soon, considering the teaser outed by Motorola’s official Twitter account. Let’s check out more details on this ahead:

Moto G100 Teased Ahead Of Launch

If we have a closer look at the teaser revealed by Motorola’s official Twitter account, we can see that the phone will be backed by Snapdragon 870 5G SoC. The teaser even reveals that the device will have a 3.5mm audio jack, USB Type-C port, a side-mounted fingerprint scanner, and a glossier finish. The details showcased in the video do resembles that of the Moto Edge S, so it’s safe to assume that the phone is coming to the global market soon as the Moto G100. Additionally, the video teaser was also shared by Motorola Germany yesterday which does mean that we can expect the device to be announced in Germany first.

If we consider the Moto Edge S making debut as the Moto G100 globally, we can expect the device to feature a 6.7-inch LCD display. The smartphone should offer a 21:9 aspect ratio, 90Hz refresh rate, and a 560 nits of brightness. Under the hood, this upcoming device will pack Qualcomm’s octa-core 7nm Snapdragon 870 5G chipset. It might be available in 6GB/8GB RAM options along with 128GB/256GB internal storage. The Moto G100 should run Android 11 out of the box.

The device may feature a 64MP quad-camera setup that might be accompanied by a 16MP ultrawide camera, a 2MP depth sensor, and a ToF 3D sensor. At the front, the Moto G100 might sport a dual-camera selfie camera setup that could consist of a 16MP sensor and an 8MP ultra-wide-angle lens. We can expect the handset to pack a 5,000mAh battery that might offer 20W turbo-charging support.

Now that Motorola has already started teasing the phone, we expect the company to soon announce the launch date in the upcoming days.
