Moto G42 with Snapdragon 680 SoC, Android 12 Listed on Geekbench, Could launch Soon

Motorola is gearing up to launch a bunch of new smartphones in the coming days. The company is expected to launch the Motorola Frontier, which could be the world’s first phone to feature a 200MP camera and the brand is also prepping to launch the Razr 3 flip phone with Snapdragon 8+ Gen 1 SoC.

On the other hand, the company is also prepping to launch a couple of Moto G series smartphones. In the past, we have spotted the Moto G62 and the Moto G42 devices on multiple occasions and now, the Moto G42 has been spotted yet again. But this time, we have spotted the device on the Geekbench database, which has revealed details like the RAM, Storage, OS version, and much more. Let’s take a look at the information in detail.

Moto G42 Listed on Geekbench

The Moto G42 will be powered by an octa-core Qualcomm Snapdragon SoC with the codename “hawao”, this is a reference to the Snapdragon 680 4G processor. The Snapdragon 680 comes with four performance cores clocked at 1.9GHz and four power-efficient cores clocked at 2.4GHz. This chipset is paired with Adreno 610 GPU. As for the memory, the device has been listed on the Geekbench with 4GB of RAM. However, we can expect more RAM and storage options when the phone launches.

Further, the device will run on Android 12 out of the box. In terms of the benchmark scores, the device has secured 376 points in the single-core test and 1538 in the multi-core test.

The device was previously spotted on TDRA with the “XT2233-2” model number, which revealed the phone’s moniker. With the same model number, the device was also spotted on EEC, TDRA, and WiFi certification websites and with the “XT2233-1” model number, the handset was spotted on the FCC certification database. Lastly, the phone has also secured BIS certification, which means the device could launch in India as well. As for the specifications goes, the device is expected to feature an OLED panel, NFC, dual-band Wi-Fi connectivity, a triple rear camera setup, and a Type-C port.
