Motorola hasn’t quite been at the top of its game. However, an attempt to remedy this was the launch of the Motorola One Power and the Motorola One being finally brought into the U.S market. Most of the craze surrounding the company is due to its upcoming and much hyped Moto G7 smartphone. The device has popped up in a number of leaks online, including leaked live images, leaked renders, and even a leaked specs sheets revealing quite a few details about the device. However, a new rumour is making the rounds and this actually seems quite groundbreaking. There’s a chance that the Moto G7 may support wireless charging. If so, it would be the first Motorola smartphone to launch with wireless charging.
Moto G7 Smartphone May Launch With Wireless Charging
A new Moto Qi wireless charging pad was spotted by none other than Roland Quandt at the website of the Wireless Power Consortium. The charging pad is rated for 10W charging. The charging pad looks quite sleek with a non-slip base and a soft surface. It even has an LED charging indicator to help one figure out when the device is in operation.
Motorola has a new Qi wireless charging pad coming. There is no current Moto phone with wireless charging. So… is this for next gen devices? pic.twitter.com/pxXwviwt8x

The listing in itself is a major hint that the company is rolling out a device which may support wireless charging. Motorola has never launched a phone which supported wireless charging. However, they have made the feature available to some of their smartphone through the use of a special case. This case needed to be purchased separately and was known as the Moto Mod shell. The shell is currently out of stock on the official Motorola store. Perhaps the company is making way for its new Qi wireless charger for the Moto G7 smartphone.
While this may seem farfetched, there is evidence to validate claims if the Moto G7 supporting wireless charging. One of the main requirements for wireless charging is a glass back. Leaked renders of the Moto G7 reveal a reflective back surface. This point to a glass back on the device. If this is true, then in all likelihood, the Moto G7 could be the first wireless charging smartphone manufactured by Motorola. Needless to say, this will be one of the highlights of the phone and definitely its USP. The benefits of wireless charging outweigh any drawbacks and users will be more than happy to have this feature built into the Moto G7.
