After leaking the promotional image of Moto G7 meant for the press yesterday, folks at Mr Gizmo have now published an image of the upcoming Moto G7 Plus. The press render has surfaced on the website ahead of an official announcement by Motorola.
If you have read our report about the Moto G7, you can see that the design of the Moto G7 Plus is largely similar. Perhaps the bigger changes will be on the inside. Motorola has been mostly mum about the two phones, but we know that they are coming soon and are quite ready for launch. Read on for details.
Moto G7 Plus Leaked Image Shows Design Similar To Moto G7
As is the case with the Moto G7, the Moto G7 Plus too will sport a waterdrop notch on the display, minimal bezels, and a dual-camera setup at the rear. We are glad that Motorola has adopted the drop-style notch, because the large rectangular notch on its One Power was rather unpleasing to the eye. The device sports a clean look, and the image shows it off from two angles. You can see the display rather clearly, and the back of the phone is bared as well.
Look carefully and you can find slight bulges for the power button and volume rockers on the right side of the device, while there is no protrusion on the left side. Since the left side of the body is clean, we can take a guess that the SIM tray is on the top, just like we saw on the Moto G7. This is a nice design strategy, as it leaves at least one full side of the device with a neat and uniform look. In keeping with the design of the Moto G7, the Moto G7 Plus also has a rear-mounted fingerprint sensor with the M badge inscribed into it.
While Motorola has not made it clear that this is a sensor, we can make the assumption without much reluctance because the phone does not feature any in-display fingerprint sensor. Also, the fingerprint sensor-cum-Motorola-badging design was seen on the Motorola One Power (review) already, and it was received well, so there is no reason for Motorola to discard it unless they are introducing in-display fingerprint technology.
The dual-camera setup at the rear also looks similar to that of the Moto G7. However, there are chances of Motorola using a higher quality sensor in the Moto G7 Plus since that has been the case with previous-generation Moto G devices. You can see two camera sensors placed horizontally inside a circular black module, with the dual-LED flash fitted below the sensors. As with the Moto G7, we could not spot any chrome-like accents on this handset, but the glass back appears to be in a dark blue color. The glass back of the Moto G7 was seen in black color in yesterday’s press render leak.
Leaked Specifications Of Moto G7 Plus
The Lenovo-owned brand has been able to keep the specs of this device well under wraps, so we cannot tell you about the performance of the phone in great detail. Leaks suggest that the handset will come with a 6.4-inch FHD+ display, and will boot Android 9 Pie out of the box.
The rest is only speculation, including an expected Snapdragon 710 AIE chipset, a battery larger than 3500mAh, 4K video recording and wireless charging support. Both the Moto G7 and Moto G7 Plus are expected to come by year-end, so let’s keep our fingers crossed.
