Alongside the Moto G8 Plus that was officially launched in India yesterday, Motorola also unveiled the Moto G8 Play in select international markets. This phone is yet to make it to India officially but will be sold in other markets like Brazil, and the U.S. The Moto G8 Play is positioned slightly below the Moto G8 Plus, but the specifications are almost similar with minor changes. Being the more affordable of the two, the G8 Play comes with a lower-spec processor and other hardware features. Let us now take a look at the specifications, features, and pricing of the Moto G8 Play. Another handset that also saw officialdom is the Moto E6 Play. Moto G8 Play price

The Moto G8 Play is yet to be officially announced for India. In the markets where it has been announced, the phone shall retail for around $274, which translates to around INR 19,000. If the phone does come to India, it is expected to be priced under the INR 13,000 mark because even the Moto G8 Plus with more features is priced at INR 13,999 here.

Moto G8 Play Specifications, features

The Moto G8 Play features a large 6.2-inch display with HD+ resolution and a small notch at the top. This is an IPS LCD panel in the 19.5:9 aspect ratio. The processor on the G8 Play sees an upgrade with the device featuring the MediaTek Helio P70M chipset instead of the Snapdragon 632 that was used in the Moto G7 Play. Motorola claims that the Helio P70M is 30 percent faster than the SD 632. The Moto G8 Play comes in a single version with 2GB of RAM and 32GB of internal storage – which might be decent for the US or the Brazilian market – but not for the highly competitive Indian market. The phone does get a microSD card slot for additional memory.

The camera setup on the Moto G8 Play features a triple camera setup at the rear consisting of a 13MP primary camera with f/2.0 aperture, a secondary 8MP camera with f/2.2 aperture, and a 117-degree field of view. The third camera is a 2MP depth sensor. At the front, the phone sports an 8MP sensor for selfies and video calls. The battery on the Moto G8 Play is the same capacity as that on the G8 Plus. There is no mention of support for fast charging, though. The phone is available in Black Onyx and Magenta Red color options.

Moto E6 Play Price

The Moto E6 Play is a budget handset that is positioned below the Moto G Series and succeeds the Moto E5 lineup from earlier this year. The E6 Play has not been officially launched in India. In the markets where it has been made available, it sells for around EYR 108, which translates to around INR 8,500.

The E6 Play is en entry-level device that comes with a 5.5-inch display with a resolution of 720 x 1440 pixels in the 18;9 aspect ratio. The phone comes powered by the MediaTek MT6739 SoC, and comes with 2GB of RAM and 32GB of storage. The device gets a single 13-megapixel camera at the rear with af/2.2 aperture and a 5-megapixel front camera with f/2.2 aperture for selfies and video calls. The E6 Play gets a 3,000mAh battery and features comprehensive connectivity options as well that includes support for 4G LTE, Wi-Fi 802.11 b/g/n, Bluetooth v4.2, GPS/ A-GPS, FM radio, Micro-USB, and a 3.5mm headphone jack.
