Moto Teases Edge X30 Under-Screen Camera Editon, May Launch Soon

Motorola has been busy lately with multiple smartphone launches at different price points. Late last year, the Lenovo-owned company launched the Moto X30, which was the first smartphone to come with the flagship Snapdragon 8 Gen 1 SoC. The company has since then launched multiple G-series smartphones in different markets. Now, Motorola could launch a new variant of the Moto X30 in China.

The new variant of the X30 will have an under-screen camera. Chen Jin, General Manager of Lenovo’s China Mobile Phone Business, has teased an image that suggests the launch of the device. Let’s take a look at the Moto X30 specifications, features and other details.

Moto X30 under-screen camera variant teased

Motorola could soon launch the Moto X30 with an under-screen camera. The company’s senior executive has teased an image, hinting at an imminent launch. Motorola launched the vanilla X30 last year with a hole-punch display. The upcoming under-screen camera variant, which was also teased at the event, will be launched soon.

The retail box does not reveal any details. However, the device is expected to feature the same 60MP front camera under the display panel. Other specs of the device are likely to remain the same as well.

In that case, the device will come with a 6.7-inch Full HD+ POLED display. It will have a 2400 × 1080 pixel resolution and 700 nits peak brightness. The phone’s display also supports a 144Hz refresh rate and comes with HDR10+ certification.

Under the hood, there will be a Qualcomm Snapdragon 8 Gen 1 chipset. The under-screen camera variant is likely to come with up to 12GB of RAM and 256GB of internal storage. It will pack a 5,000mAh battery with 68W fast-charging support.

On the back, the premium Motorola smartphone will have a triple-camera setup. It will come with a 50MP main camera sensor and offer optical image stabilisation. There will also be another 50MP sensor for shooting ultrawide images. Lastly, the camera setup on the back will be completed by a 2MP macro shooter.

The device runs Android 12 out of the box with a layer of MyUI 3.0 on top. Connectivity options include a USB Type-C charging port, a side-mounted fingerprint scanner, Bluetooth 5.2, WiFi 802.11a/b/g/n/ac/ax, etc. There is no 3.5mm headphone jack. The phone weighs about 194 grams and measures 163.56 x 75.95 x 8.49mm.
