Just yesterday, the upcoming Moto Edge X was teased by the company official via a social media post. The handset also made an appearance on the 3C certification which confirmed 68W fast-charging support. Now, folks over TechnikNews obtained the key specifications of the upcoming Moto Edge X and also revealed that it will launch as Motorola Edge 30 Ultra in the global markets sometime in January 2022. The Edge 30 Ultra will sport a 6.67-inch FHD+ OLED display panel with a 144Hz refresh rate and HDR 10+ certification. TechnikNews confirms that the Moto Edge X will be powered by the to-be-announced flagship Snapdragon SM8450 SoC with codename taro. So, we can expect the upcoming Edge 30 Ultra to be one of the first smartphones to sport Qualcomm Snapdragon 898 SoC.

The Edge 30 Ultra is said to retail in 8/12GB LPDDR5 memory and 128/256GB UFS3.1 storage configurations. The company might not include an SD-card slot, so users won’t have an option to expand the storage. The handset is said to come preloaded with Android 12, and will be eligible to receive two Android version upgrades in Europe. However, the Moto Edge X (Chinese variant) will get only on Android update, that is Android 13.

Moving on to the optics, the handset is said to offer a triple-rear camera setup including two 50MP sensors. The primary 50MP Omnivision sensor (OV50A) will feature OIS support and is said to get accompanied by a 50MP Samsung JN1 ultra-wide-angle lens, and a 2MP OmniVision (OV02B1B) depth sensor. The handset might feature a higher resolution 60MP shooter for selfies inside a punch-hole notch.

The upcoming Edge 30 Ultra is said to be equipped with a 5,000mAh battery. The upcoming Edge 30 Ultra, with its 68W (wired) fast-charging, will be the fastest charging Moto handset to date. Motorola will bundle a 68W charger with the package as per the TechnikNews report. It might feature a USB Type-C USB 3.1 Gen 1 port for charging and data transfers. The Edge 30 Ultra will have a dedicated button to trigger Google Assitant but it will not offer 3.5mm audio jack. Though, it will have stereo speakers and a triple-microphone setup with an audio zoom feature.
