Motorola Edge 40 Design Renders Leaked Ahead of Official Launch; Price and Specifications Tipped

The Motorola Edge 40 series is expected to launch soon. Motorola is expected to launch two premium phones in the Edge 40 series in the coming weeks. MySmartPrice has already shared the exclusive specifications, features and other details of the upcoming Moto Edge 40 and Edge 40 Pro. While the Edge 40 Pro seems to be a rebadged Moto X40 from China, the Edge 40 5G will be a brand-new device. Now, a new leak by The Tech Outlook and tipster OnLeaks has revealed the design of the upcoming vanilla Motorola Edge 40 5G.

Motorola Edge 40 5G Design Renders Leaked

The new Motorola Edge 40 5G will be a premium smartphone offering. The phone’s design renders have leaked online ahead of its launch. According to the leaked design renders, the edge 40 5G will have a curved display with a hole-punch cutout at the top centre. The screen has a slightly thick chin bezel but the rest of the bezels are fairly thin. The frame is slightly flat but the rear panel is curved towards the edges. On the right edge, there are the power and volume buttons. The bottom edge houses the USB Type-C port, a primary speaker grille and the SIM tray.

The device has a square-shaped camera module on the back. It has a 50MP main camera sensor with support for OIS. The text on the back of the rear panel reveals that the aperture is quite wide at f/1.4. There is a dual LED flash setup on the back next to the camera sensors.

The report also revealed the price of the Edge 40, which will be EUR 599 for the base 8GB + 128GB variant. This roughly translates to Rs 53,600. The India price of the Edge 40 5G could be a lot lower in comparison.

In terms of hardware, the report reiterates the specifications of the Edge 40, which were revealed exclusively by MySmartPrice. It will feature a 6.55-inch pOLED display with a Full HD+ resolution. The screen will offer 144Hz refresh rate support. It will come with features, such as HDR10+ and 1200 nits of peak brightness.

On the back, there will be a 50MP main camera with OIS as mentioned above. The camera setup on the back will also feature a 13MP ultra-wide camera sensor. For selfies, the Edge 40 5G will have a 32MP front camera sensor. It will launch in two storage options — 8GB + 128GB and 8GB + 256GB. 

The Edge 40 5G will pack a 4400mAh battery under the hood. It will feature support for 68W TurboPower charging and 15W wireless charging. There will be an unannounced MediaTek Diemnsity 8020 SoC under the hood. The phone will also run the latest Android 13 out of the box. It will have a layer of MyUx on top.
