Motorola Edge 40 with Dimensity 1100 SoC, 8GB RAM Appears on Geekbench Ahead of Launch

Motorola recently announced the Motorola Edge 40 Pro smartphone for the European and Latin American markets. The Edge 40 Pro is a flagship device from Motorola that arrives with a pOLED display featuring Snapdragon 8 Gen 2 SoC and a triple-camera setup. Now, it looks like the company is prepping to introduce the vanilla Motorola Edge 40 in the market in the coming few days. Recently, we at MySmartPrice had revealed the specifications of the Motorola Edge 40 and the Edge 40 Pro. Now, in a recent development, the Motorola Edge 40 has appeared on Geekbench ahead of the launch. The benchmark listing confirms the hardware specifications of the handset.

Motorola Edge 40 To Pack 8GB Of RAM

The Motorola Edge 40 Geekbench listing was first spotted at the folks at Pricebaba. As per the Geekbench test result, the upcoming Motorola Edge 40 will feature MT6891Z SoC, which is Dimensity 1100. However, as per our sources, this device will debut with the Dimensity 8020 SoC, which is yet to be announced. Furthermore, the benchmark reveals that the handset will pack 8GB of RAM. On the software side of things, the device will run Android 13 OS out of the box with My UX on top. The handset has managed to pull off 1105 in the single-core and 3542 in the multicore test result.


As far as the other specifications of the Motorola Edge 40 go, the device is expected to feature a 6.55-inch pOLED display. The handset is tipped to offer Full HD+ resolution, 144Hz refresh rate, HDR10+ support, and 1200 nits of peak brightness. As for the security purpose, the device is expected to feature an on-screen fingerprint sensor and a face unlock support.

On the backside, the smartphone is rumoured to feature a dual-camera setup. The rear-facing camera module is expected to include a 50MP main camera which could have a f/1.5 aperture and an OIS support. The primary 50MP sensor might be accompanied by a 13MP ultra-wide lens which could have a 120-degree field of view. The front of the handset is expected to include a 13MP selfie camera.

Furthermore, the smartphone is said to pack 256GB of UFS 3.1 storage. The device is likely to ship with a 4400mAh battery which could offer 68W wired fast charging and 15W wireless charging support. The device is expected to debut in Lunar Blue, Nebula Green, Eclipse Black and Magenta colour options.

As of now, Motorola has not revealed the official launch date of the Motorola Edge 40. Considering that the Motorola Edge 40 Pro has been announced lately, we can expect the Edge 40 to debut in the coming few days or weeks.
