Motorola Edge 40 launched in India as the latest flagship offering from the brand. The new smartphone comes in a single configuration and is priced under Rs 30,000 in India. It’s not only the first device with the new MediaTek Dimensity 8020 processor but is also touted to be the slimmest 5G device in the world. Motorola Edge 40 Price in India, Availability

Motorola has launched the Edge 40 in India in a single configuration – 8GB RAM and 256GB storage. The handset has been priced at Rs 29,999 but will be available for Rs 27,999 with Rs 2,000 exchange bonus. Flipkart is also offering a screen replacement package for Rs 9,500 with the purchase.

Interested buyers can also pick it up for Rs 5,000 a month with no cost EMI from leading banks. The new launch will go on sale from May 30, 12pm onwards. It will be available on Motorola.in, Flipkart, and leading retail stores in India. The smartphone is offered in Nebula Green and Eclipse Black with a vegan leather finish.

The Motorola Edge 40 is the first Edge 40 series flagship to launch in India. It has a 144Hz pOLED display with a Full HD+ screen resolution and 1,200 nits peak brightness. The panel is an 8-bit unit and measures 6.55 inches from corner to corner diagonally. Motorola has equipped the flagship device with an in-display fingerprint scanner for authentication.

As for performance, the Motorola Edge 40 is the first smartphone in the world to be powered by the MediaTek Dimensity 8020 processor. The new processor is an octa-core unit with a 9-core Mali G77 GPU. The processor features a cluster of four performance ARM Cortex-A78 cores up to 2.6 GHz and four battery-efficient ARM Cortex-A55 up to 2GHz. It’s accompanied by 8GB LPDDR4X RAM and 256GB UFS 3.1 storage.

In the camera department, the Motorola Edge 40 has a dual-lens setup on the rear panel. The primary camera is a 50MP unit with support for OIS and an f/1.4 aperture. The secondary camera is a 13MP ultra-wide lens that doubles as a macro shooter. A 32MP camera on the front takes care of selfies and video calling.

Powering the Motorola Edge 40 is a 4400mAh battery with support for 68W TurboPower fast charging. The device also supports 15W wireless charging, which is another segment first in India. Out of the box, the handset boots Android 13-based MyUX. It flaunts an IP68 rating for water and dust resistance.

Other features of the latest launch include Dolby Atmos stereo speaker setup, 5G, WiFi 802.11ax, Bluetooth 5.2, NFC, GPS, GLONASS, and Galileo. There’s also a Type-C port for charging and data transfers.
