Motorola launched the X40 5G late last year in China. The company has launched its latest flagship smartphone with the new Qualcomm Snapdragon 8 Gen 2 SoC. The X40 5G is expected to launch as a new flagship smartphone for the global market in the form of the Edge 40 Pro. Motorola is expected to announce the launch details soon. The company might announce the Motorola Edge 40 Pro for the global markets at the Mobile World Congress (MWC) 2023.

The device is likely to pack the same hardware found in the Chinese variant. It is also likely to launch the phone with the same design as the X40 5G, according to the leaked design renders of Appuals. Citing tipster Sudhanshu Ambhore, the report has uploaded the design renders of the phone, which also reveal its new colour options. Let’s take a look at the Motorola Edge 40 Pro design renders, specifications and other details known ahead of the global launch.

Motorola Edge 40 Pro Global Design Renders

The Motorola Edge 40 Pro will be among the most affordable smartphones with the latest Qualcomm Snapdragon 8 Gen 2 SoC. The Moto Edge 40 Pro is expected to launch in various markets very soon, including India.

The leaked renders of the global variant suggest that the phone will launch with two colour options — Black and Blue.

The phone has a small square-shaped block on the back for the triple-camera setup and an LED flash. The text on the camera module confirms that the phone has a 50MP primary camera sensor, which is also the case with the X40 5G. The rear panel is curved and has the Motorola logo slapped in the centre.

On the front, the phone has a curved display with a hole-punch cutout at the top centre. The top and bottom bezels are also very thin. The phone’s power and volume buttons are also located on the right edge. There will be an in-display fingerprint scanner as well.

In terms of specifications, the phone is expected to sport a 6.67-inch OLED display with a Full HD+ resolution. The screen will have a 165Hz refresh rate and a layer of Corning Gorilla Glass Victus.

As mentioned above, the Edge 40 Pro will feature a Qualcomm Snapdragon 8 Gen 2 SoC. It is expected to launch with up to 12GB of RAM and 256GB/ 512GB of internal storage. The phone’s Chinese version has LPDDR5 RAM and UFS 4.0 storage.

It will sport a triple-camera setup on the back. There will be a 50MP primary shooter with OIS, a 50MP ultra-wide-angle lens and a 12MP portrait lens with 2x optical zoom. For selfies, the phone will have a 60MP front camera sensor.

The device will pack a 4600mAh battery. It will support 125W fast charging and 15W wireless charging. There will be stereo speakers and a USB Type-C port. The flagship phone does not have a 3.5mm headphone jack. It will weigh about 197 grams and measure 161.3 × 73.9 × 8.5mm.

The Edge 40 Pro is likely to run Android 13-based MyUX 13 out of the box. As per the Appuals report, the 12GB + 256GB variant of the Edge 40 Pro will have a launch price of EUR 850 (roughly Rs 75,300).
