Just yesterday Qualcomm announced the Snapdragon 870 SoC, which is a marginal upgrade over last year’s Snapdragon 865/865+. Moto had already confirmed that the upcoming Snapdragon 8XX series chipset will debut on the Moto Edge S, which the company has been teasing for a while. Soon after the Snapdragon 870 announcement, Moto took it to Weibo to share Moto Edge S official launch poster. The official launch poster reveals that the smartphone will make its debut on 26th January in China. Additionally, it reaffirms that the upcoming Moto Edge S will be powered by Qualcomm Snapdragon 870 SoC.
Moto Edge S: What we know so far!
There have been several leaks and rumors around an upcoming Moto smartphone with the codename Nio. The upcoming Moto Edge S might be the same as Motorola Nio which we had earlier spotted on FCC and 3C certification websites recently. FCC certification had revealed that the Moto Nio will be a 5G-ready smartphone. While the 3C certification revealed a 20W fast-charging support on the upcoming handset.
The Moto Nio had earlier appeared on the Geekbench website revealing the presence of 8GB RAM, Adreno 650, and Android 11. TUV Rheinland certification has already confirmed that the Moto Edge S will pack a 5,000mAh battery.
Previous reports claimed that the upcoming Moto handset will sport an FHD+ resolution display with a 90Hz screen refresh rate. The upcoming Moto Edge S might offer a 64MP primary rear camera with an OmniVision sensor. The handset might be equipped with a 16MP ultra-wide-angle sensor and a 2MP depth sensor. On the front, the handset might offer dual selfie shooters including a 16MP primary lens and an 8MP secondary sensor.
