Motorola Edge X30 flagship smartphone is scheduled to launch on December 9 in China. Ahead of the launch, the device was spotted on Geekbench which revealed several key specifications including RAM, OS, and chipset. A new teaser from a Motorola executive on Webio has now confirmed the existence of a new variant of the Edge X30 with the under-display camera.

On Weibo, the company executive has shared an image of the upcoming smartphone from the company which reveals the under-display camera tech on the phone. The post says, “There is no doubt that the under-screen camera is still a radical choice for the industry, but the crazy increase in user demand and feedback for this feature tells us to do the right thing, not the easy thing.” (machine translated)

Further, the executive also confirms, they decided to build a special variant of the Moto Edge X30 which will indeed come with an under-display camera along with a Snapdragon 8
So this time we decided to do whatever it takes, there will be a special version of Moto Edge X30 which will be the first under-screen front camera of the Snapdragon 8 Gen 1 SoC. More details will be revealed on December 9 during the launch.

Apart from Motorola, this year we have seen the Samsung Galaxy Z Fold 3 with under-display camera technology.

In terms of specifications, we expected this new variant of the Motorola Edge X30 to sport the same specs as the regular version. As per the previous reports, the Moto Edge X30 will come with 12GB RAM and boot-up with Android 12 out of the box. The phone is said to offer a 50MP primary rear camera and a 60MP selfie shooter on the front.

On the inside, the device will pack a 5,000mAh battery with support for 68W fast-charge. It is also confirmed to sport a 10-bit 144Hz OLED display. Globally, the device is expected to launch as Edge 30 Ultra.
