Motorola has finally launched its sub-10k, affordable smartphone — the Moto G8 Power Lite in India less than a week after Motorola India chief Prashant Mani tweeted that they will launch the device here. Back then, Mani had indicated that the company would price the Moto G8 Power Lite for less than INR 10,000. Today, Motorola announced that it would sell the device for INR 8,999 in the country, making it one of Motorola’s most affordable smartphones for India. Notably, this launch comes just two days after Motorola launched its flagship-grade handset, the Motorola Edge+ in the country for INR 74,999.

 

Moto G8 Power Lite specifications, features

The Moto G8 Power Lite belongs to Motorola’s popular Moto G series and is positioned below the Moto G8 Plus, which is already on sale in India. This device gets MediaTek’s entry-level Helio P35 chipset and is offered in a single variant that ships with 4GB of RAM and 64GB of internal storage.

The display used on the Moto G8 Power Lite is a 6.5-inch LCD panel that boasts of 1600 x 720-pixel resolution. There is a u-shaped notch at the top of the display to house the 8MP front-facing camera. On the rear panel, the Moto G8 Power Lite gets a triple camera setup consisting of a 16MP primary camera, a 2MP macro camera, and a 2MP depth-sensing camera.

The phone ships with a massive 5,000mAh battery that should be more than capable of keeping the device charged for nearly two full days. The phone ships with a standard 10W charger and runs Android 9 Pie out of the box.

Motorola G8 Power Lite Price in India, Launch offers

As outlined earlier in this article, the only variant of the Moto G8 Power Lite gets 4GB of RAM and 64GB storage and has been priced at INR 8,999 in the country. The two color options available for the device include Royal Blue and Arctic Blue. As far as special offers go, Axis Bank customers can avail 5% Cashback on Flipkart Axis Bank Credit Card. The phone goes on sale via Flipkart starting May 29, 2020.
