Motorola One Action Specifications, Features
The Motorola One Action is an upper-midrange smartphone that runs on Samsung’s Exynos 9609 SoC. This is the same chipset found on the Motorola One Vision (review) that launched in India a couple of months ago. The naming convention of the Moto One Action signifies that this is an Android One smartphone that ships with a near-stock version of Android 9 Pie. While the phone is only offered in a 4GB RAM + 128GB storage model, Motorola has provided a hybrid card slot that allows the second SIM space to hold a microSD card. This will let you add up to 512GB of additional storage space if you so choose.
The One Action ships with a 6.3-inch IPS LCD screen that bears a Full HD+ resolution and a 21:9 ultrawide aspect ratio. This phone is claimed to be splash resistant to some extent (IPX2 water resistance rating) and is also said to sport a scratch-resistant glass over its display. A standout feature of this phone is its 12MP punch-hole selfie camera that sits in the corner of the display.
Rear photography on the Moto One Action is rather interesting. The bulk of your photography will be handled by a 12MP, f/1.8 sensor that can record videos at up to 4K 30fps. A secondary 5MP camera is present to assist with capturing depth information for portrait shots. Then there third camera, which is a 16MP resolution sensor that the Lenovo-owned phone maker claims is the ‘Industry’s first Ultra-Wide Action Cam.’ This camera is said to record up to 117-degree videos at 1080p. while there isn’t OIS on this phone, Motorola has loaded EIS tech to help stabilize video capture. Furthermore, this camera can record landscape videos even when the phone is held in a vertical orientation.
Powering this contraption is a modest 3500mAh battery. Despite charging over USB Type-C, this battery only supports 10W charging. As for connectivity, the Moto One Action offers dual-SIM with 4G VoLTE, dual-band Wi-Fi, Bluetooth v5.0, NFC, FM radio, and 3.5mm audio with Dolby Audio enhancements. The primary biometric unlock option on this phone is a rear-mounted fingerprint scanner that flaunts Motorola’s iconic ‘M’ branding.
