Motorola India has just put out a tweet announcing that the brand will launch the Motorola One Action smartphone in India on August 23, 2019. The Indian e-commerce website, Flipkart, has also created a separate page teasing the India launch of the Motorola One Action.

As most of you might know, the Motorola One Action made its international debut last Friday at an event in Europe, where the brand announced the specifications of the device and its European pricing as well. Let us check out the specifications, and let us also discuss at what price could Motorola launch the One Action smartphone in India.

Motorola One Action Specifications

The Motorola One Action has a 6.3-inch IPS LCD with Full HD+ resolution, and the display has a 21:9 ultrawide aspect ratio, just like that on the Moto One Vision. According to Motorola, the ultrawide aspect ratio of the display is perfect for watching movies, as most movies are shot in the same aspect ratio. The display has a punch-hole at the top left corner for the front-facing camera. There is a scratch-resistant glass over the display, but it isn’t confirmed if it’s a Gorilla Glass.

Coming over to the camera, the One Action has a triple-camera setup at the rear, and it is one of the highlights of the device. This triple-camera setup has a 48MP main camera with PDAF and 4K video recording, a 16MP ultrawide camera that can record Full HD videos, and a 5MP depth sensor. For selfies, you get a 12MP camera with f/2.0 aperture and HDR mode.

Powering the Motorola One Action is the Exynos 9609 SoC, which is the same SoC that is in the Motorola One Vision. If you check out our review of the Moto One Vision, you’ll find out that the device didn’t perform as smooth as a smartphone of its price should. And we suspect that the main culprit for this could be the Exynos 9609 SoC. Now that the Moto One Action has the same chipset, I think the device could have the same, sluggish performance as its sibling. Anyway, mated to the SoC is a 4GB of RAM and 128GB of storage. Yes, there is only one memory configuration on offer. At least, in the European markets. On the software front, the Moto One Action has Android One version of Android 9 Pie OS.

The Motorola One Action is backed by a 3500mAh battery. That’s not a lot when you consider that smartphones even in a segment below offer a battery capacity of 4000mAh and above. And therefore, I think this could be another deal-breaker for some. Moreover, there is only 10W charging support, which is significantly lower than 18W charging speed that most phones offer. Expect the Moto One Action to take quite a long time to charge from 0 to 100 percent. Connectivity options of the One Action, however, are quite impressive. It has dual-SIM with dual-4G and dual-VoLTE, dual-band Wi-Fi ac, Bluetooth v5.0, and USB Type-C port. There is, of course, a 3.5mm audio jack on offer. Other features of the smartphone include a rear-mounted fingerprint scanner, splash-resistance, and a glossy back panel with a gradient finish.

How Much Would the Motorola One Action Cost in India?

In Europe, the Motorola One Action costs EUR 259, which converts to around INR 20,000. However, I think that the One Action might cost more than that in India. And why is that? Well, the Motorola One Vision, which is not as feature-packed as the Motorola One Action, costs INR 19,999 in India. So, there is no way that Motorola would offer the comparatively advanced One Action at the same price as the One Vision. In my opinion, the Moto One Action might come with a price tag of INR 21,999.
