Lenovo-owned Motorola is reportedly working on a new budget smartphone called the Motorola One Action. According to the usually trustworthy folks at Winfuture.de, Motorola is set to launch this new handset in the next few weeks. While we already knew about the existence of the One Action thanks to earlier leaks, this latest leak has more or less revealed the complete hardware specifications of this affordable new phone. In case you are wondering, this fresh leak is courtesy of yet another Amazon listing that went live earlier than it should have. The listing has since then been taken down.
Let’s now take a quick look at what we know so far about this handset
Motorola One Action: Specifications, features
To start things off, it is pertinent to note that the Motorola One Action comes powered by the same Exynos 9709 SoC that is already used on the Moto One Vision. This chip houses a quad-core processor with four ARM Cortex A73 cores and four ARM Cortex A53 cores. The 9609 is a slightly underclocked version of the Exynos 9610. For graphics, this SoC gets the Mali-G72 MP3 GPU. The Motorola One Action is likely to be offered in three versions starting with a base 3+32GB variant, followed by a 3+64GB version and a top-end 4GB+64GB version. The display used on the One Action is identical to the one on the One Vision – a 6.3-inch panel in the 21:9 aspect ratio and a resolution of 1080 x 2520 pixels. The handset also gets a reasonably sized 3,500 mAh battery.
The Motorola One Action gets a triple rear camera setup that consists of a 13MP primary camera, a secondary wide-angle lens, and a third depth-sensing camera. The front-facing camera also uses a 13MP sensor mated to a fixed focus lens. At launch, the One Action will run a near-stock version of Android 9 Pie with an update to Android 10 in the pipeline soon.
Motorola One Action: Pricing, availability
While not confirmed yet, there is a good chance that Motorola would officially announce the One Action at IFA 2019 which is scheduled to be held between September 6 and September 11, 2019. The phone should go on sale starting September 13. As for the pricing, while we do not know the specifics yet, the base version of the handset is likely to be priced around the EUR 200 mark. There is no word if the handset would make it to India soon.
