The ongoing COVID-19 pandemic has affected several important smartphone releases and sale dates. In the past, companies like Vivo, Realme, and Xioami have had to postpone their respective smartphone launches due to the current situation. Xiaomi even had to postpone the first sale of the recently launched Redmi Note 9 Pro Max smartphone in India due to the coronavirus outbreak. Realme’s Narzo 10 and Narzo 10A smartphones could also not be launched as per the schedule. The launch of the Vivo V19 smartphone was initially postponed by a week, which was later extended further indefinitely. Motorola has now joined the list as the first sale date for the company’s first-ever foldable smartphone, the Motorola Razr (2019) has been postponed to April 15 due to coronavirus.
Motorola Razr (2019) First Sale is Now April 15
Motorola had to take the call on the current lockdown situation and its first sale of the Motorola Razr (2019) smartphone. Prashanth Mani, Country Head, Lenovo Mobile Business Group, MD of Motorola Mobility, officially announced that the first sale date of the Motorola Razr (2019) would now be April 15, as it would be impossible for the logistics team of e-commerce websites in the country to deliver the device before the said date. The official lockdown period in the country is until April 14, at least for now, and it could possibly be extended further, so the new sale date should also be taken as a tentative sale date as of now, and the Motorola Razr (2019) first sale might further be delayed in the country, something nobody has any control over.
For those unaware, the Motorola Razr (2019) sports a 6.2-inch Full HD+ P-OLED display with a resolution of 876 x 2,142 pixels. The device also has a secondary 2.7-inch display with a 600 x 800 pixel resolution. The Motorola Razr (2019) measures 172 x 72 x 6.9 mm (when unfolded) and 94 x 72 x 14 mm (when folded). It weighs in at 205 grams. Under the hood, the Motorola Razr is powered by a 10nm octa-core Qualcomm Snapdragon 710 processor, which is coupled with an Adreno 616 GPU, 6GB of RAM, and 128GB of internal storage. There is no scope for storage expansion and 128GB is all that you have with the Motorola Razr (2019).
In the camera department, the Motorola Razr flaunts a dual rear camera setup, which includes a 16MP primary lens with f/1.7 aperture and Dual Pixel PDAF, and a ToF 3D depth sensor. The front camera of the device is a 5MP unit with f/2.0 aperture. On the software side of things, the Motorola Razr ships with the dated Android 9 Pie OS out of the box. As far as the battery is concerned, the Motorola Razr is fueled by a 2,510mAh battery, which can be charged with up to 18W of fast charging over a USB Type-C charging port.
Coming to the price of the device, the Motorola Razr is priced at Rs 1,24,999 in India. The device will be sold via Flipkart and the company’s own e-store in the country.
