Motorola has officially teased the launch of its new “Business-grade” smartphone. The Motorola ThinkPhone has been officially teased ahead of the Consumer Electronics Show (CES) 2023. The company confirmed to launch its first business-grade phone at the global annual tech event, which will take place between January 5 and January 8. Motorola teased the rear panel design of the ThinkPhone. The images show the textured rear panel that curves into the frame. We can also see antenna lines on the frame, suggesting the use of metal.
There is a button with red accents on it but the company did not reveal any details about the same. The ThinkPhone is also confirmed to sport a flat frame. At the bottom edge of the phone is the “ThinkPhone by Motorola” branding.
We’re Definitely Getting the Motorola ThinkPhone at CES 2023
At CES 2023, Motorola will debut its first ThinkPhone series phone. The phone is expected to offer productivity-focused features. Motorola did not confirm any details about the phone other than showing the phone’s rear panel design.
However, the rumour mill has revealed almost all key details about the phone. Leaked marketing images leaked recently show that the phone will offer features that will help users connect their phone to the laptop and perform tasks wirelessly. Some of the features leaked via the images reveal features, such as “Connect Display”, “Mirror Phone”, “Webcam”, etc. The images also show that ThinkPhone users will be able to answer incoming phone calls, check messages and control music playback on their phone directly from the laptop.
The phone will sport a flat display with a hole-punch cutout at the top centre. According to the leaked details, the phone will come with a 6.6-inch OLED display and support a 144Hz refresh rate. The hole-punch cutout will house a 32MP front camera.
On the back, the phone has a square-shaped camera module. It will house a 50MP main camera, a 13MP ultrawide camera and a 2MP depth sensor. There will be a Qualcomm Snapdragon 8+ Gen 1 SoC under the hood. The phone is likely to launch with up to 12GB of RAM and 256GB of internal storage. The device is unlikely to get support for storage expansion via a microSD card.
The ThinkPhone is likely to support 68W fast charging and 15W wireless charging. There is no word on the battery capacity but we can expect it to range between 4500-5000mAh battery. It will boot Android 13 out of the box.
The phone is said to weigh about 189 grams and measure 158.7 x 74.4 x 8.3mm. there is no word on whether the phone is launching in India. Based on the phone’s leaked specs and features, we can expect the ThinkPhone to be a premium offering. Motorola is expected to announce more details about the phone, including its pricing and availability details in the coming days.
