Earlier this month, OnePlus announced that it would be working on launching affordable products, especially for Indian audiences. While we are yet to see an announcement from the company regarding a potential mid-range smartphone, the brand earlier today made an announcement regarding the launch of a new smart TV in the country, which will come with an affordable price tag. The company has made the news official via its social media handles. As per the announcement, the upcoming OnePlus TV will launch in India on July 2, 2020. Take a look at what we know about the upcoming OnePlus TV so far.
OnePlus to launch new affordable OnePlus TV in India on July 2
Pete Lau, OnePlus founder and CEO, took to Twitter to make the announcement regarding the launch of the upcoming OnePlus TV. He has explicitly mentioned the fact that the upcoming TV will be ‘more accessible’ to the Indian community. While we are not entirely sure as to how much affordable the upcoming OnePlus TV will be, we can only hope (for now) that it is priced aggressively. Nevertheless, below is the tweet for your reference:

The tweet contains a promotional poster for the upcoming OnePlus TV, which shows the top view of the TV in all likelihood. Clearly, OnePlus does not want to take the wraps off its affordable smart TV this soon and we can expect further teasers like this one in the days to come.
While this is pretty much everything we have on the upcoming OnePlus TV, we were able to spot a new OnePlus TV on the Bluetooth SIG certification website a little while ago. Bluetooth certification for the TV revealed that it would feature an LED panel and would have Bluetooth v5.0 connectivity. As far as the screen size is concerned, the OnePlus TV will feature a 55-inch display. Under the hood, the OnePlus TV will be powered by a MediaTek MT5607 processor, which is the same as the one found on the first generation of OnePlus TVs. If the OnePlus TV that we found on the Bluetooth SIG website is the one that the company is going to launch in India, we are looking at similar SoC in a more affordable package. This, however, is speculation as of now, and we would suggest readers take things with a slight grain of salt for now.
