Xiaomi yesterday confirmed that it will launch its flagship, 13 Pro on February 26 in India and in global markets during Mobile World Congress (MWC) 2023. The company has now revealed that it will launch another product before that. It will launch a Xiaomi TV Stick 4K on February 14 which is Valentine’s Day. The company has revealed a few details and designs of its upcoming Xiaomi TV Stick 4K. It’s been a long since Xiaomi launched a TV Stick in India. The last time it launched a TV stick was in December 2021. The TV Stick 4K will be the successor of that. Xiaomi TV Stick 4K: What to Expect?

Xiaomi has confirmed several features of its upcoming TV Stick. As its name describes, the stick will support 4K resolution. It will also support 4K HDR content. It will have a remote bundled with it. The remote will have shortcuts for multiple OTT platforms like Netflix, Amazon Prime Video, Disney Plus Hotstar, and others. Along with these, the remote will have Google Assistant support and it can be controlled by voice commands.

The TV stick has a compact and portable design. It will have support for Dolby Vision and Dolby Atmos content. It will have Xiaomi’s Patchwall UI inbuilt in it which is based on the Android operating system for TV. You will get the option to download any third party app from Google Play Store inbuilt in UI.

The TV Stick 4K will be powered by a Quad Core processor which Xiaomi hasn’t revealed specifically. The stick will allow you to screencast the content directly from your smartphone to the TV.

Previous Gen Xiaomi TV Stick 4K Specifications

Xiaomi launched the old gen TV Stick 4K in December 2021. It offered over 4,00,000+ movies and shows across apps and will give access to over 7,000 apps and games from Google Play Store. Further, there was a built-in Google Assistant and Chromecast. In terms of hardware, it was powered by a quad-core Cortex-A35 CPU coupled with Mali-G31 MP2 GPU, 2GB of RAM and 8GB of internal storage. For connectivity, you get Wi-Fi 2.4GHz/5GHz and Bluetooth 5.0.

The stick runs on Android TV 11 OS along with Patchwall UI which is Xiaomi’s custom skin for TVs. In terms of video decoders, the stick supports AV1, VP9, H.265, H.264, MPEG-2, and MPEG-1. The stick also supports Dolby Vision content and in terms of audio, it offers Dolby Atmos DTS HD sound signature. It also comes with a companion Bluetooth remote with hotkeys for Netflix, Amazon Prime Video, Google Assistant, Patch Wall along with back, home, volume controls, and power keys.
