Nokia has announced that it will be launching a new flip phone dubbed Nokia 2720 next Monday that happens to be December 16. The device falls in line with the Nokia TA-1170, a device that appeared on the TENAA certification website a little while ago. If it indeed is the same device, we already have a working clue as to what the specifications of the upcoming Nokia 2720 flip phone are going to be.

Nokia 2720 flip phone will launch on December 16 in China

The news has got confirmed courtesy of a new teaser the company has posted on its official Weibo handle. The (somewhat) translated text says the following:

# Nokia 手机 # Stuck! Which copy and picture match best? !! Wait online, anxious!

[A] Next Monday, announce good news!
[B] Finally! ______ is coming, see you on Monday!
[C] Here comes, here comes ______! See you next Monday!
[D] I urged ______ 800 times, see you next Monday!”

Alongside the text, the company has also posted a promotional poster of the device.

Judging by the poster and comparing it with the live images of the Nokia TA-1170 on TENAa, it is safe to assume that both the devices are the same. If that is the case, the Nokia 2720 will feature a 2.8-inch display with a resolution of 240 × 320 pixels. That, however, is the primary display and we are also going to get a secondary display that can be used if/when the device is in its folded state. The secondary display will be a 1.3-inch unit with a 240 × 240 pixels resolution.

The device measures 18.7×54.5×104.8(mm) and weighs in at 118 grams. The power button and a 3.5mm headphone jack appear to be on the left side of the device whereas the volume buttons are on the right side.

Under the hood, the Nokia 2720 will be powered with an unnamed 1.094GHz which will be coupled with 4GB of RAM and 4GB of internal storage. The Nokia 2720 will run on KaiOS 2.5.2 operating system. The battery of the device is rated at 1,500mAh.

For photography, we will get a 2MP camera which will be used for taking both regular, as well as selfie shots.

As of now, this is all we know about the device. The price and the rest of the specifications are yet to be known.
