HMD Global is hosting a launch event in London on March 19, 2020. The company’s Chief Product Officer, Juho Sarvikas, revealed the date a little while ago on Twitter. Though he did not explicitly mention the products that we would see getting launched at the said launch event, word has it that the company would launch the Nokia 8.2 5G, Nokia 5.2, Nokia 1.3, and a brand new Nokia C2 (the company is making a return to the Nokia C-series of smartphones, which was last seen back in 2010). Out of these, we would focus on the Nokia 5.2 for now as the same has today been spotted running on the Geekbench database. The Geekbench listing for the Nokia 5.2 reveals some of its key specifications.
As seen in the Geekbench database website, the Nokia 5.2 scored 313 in the single-core test and 1,419 in the multi-core test. Furthermore, the Geekbench listing confirms that the Nokia 5.2 will run on Android 10 OS out of the box. Under the hood, the device will be powered by a 1.80GHz octa-core chipset, which will be paired with 3GB of RAM.
Nokia 5.2 is Codenamed ‘Captain America’
It is already known that the upcoming Nokia 5.2 is going to be dubbed Captain America, probably because of the shield-like camera setup at the back. The device is tipped to feature a rear-mounted fingerprint scanner, a waterdrop notch display, and a quad rear camera setup. The device is rumoured to be priced somewhere around $180.
Nokia 5.2 Expected to Launch on March 19, Along with Three Other Phones
As said, HMD Global is expected to unveil a bunch of smartphones on March 19, 2020. The Nokia 8.2 smartphone will be the company’s upcoming flagship, which will have 5G-connectivity. You can expect a pop-up selfie camera coming up with the Nokia 8.2 5G. The device is tipped to come in 8GB of RAM and 128GB/256GB internal storage variants. A 3,500mAh battery will fuel the device. As far as pricing goes, the device could be priced somewhere around Rs 36,000.
Besides the flagship, the company is also expected to revive entry-level smartphones like the Nokia 1.3 and the Nokia C2. The Nokia 1.3 is tipped to feature 1GB of RAM, 8GB of internal storage, and it is said to be priced at around Rs 6,200. Lastly, the Nokia C2 is likely to be priced around Rs 4,000, but the specific whereabouts of the device are unknown for now.
As of now, this is pretty much all the intel that we have been able to gather about the upcoming Nokia smartphones, but we are sure to receive more information about the same in the coming days.
