HMD Global recently announced its brand new Nokia 5.3 smartphone. The device comes with a Qualcomm Snapdragon 665 chipset, up to 6GB of RAM, four rear cameras, and a 6.55-inch HD+ display. As it turns out, the Nokia 5.3 smartphone might soon be launching in India as well. Not only that, but the company’s feature phone, the Nokia 5310, is also reportedly in the works to reach Indian soil pretty soon. Both devices have recently been spotted on the Nokia India page, which suggests that the launch date for both of them is imminent. Take a look at the expected launch date, specifications, and features of the Nokia 5.3 and Nokia 5310 devices.
Nokia 5.3 and Nokia 5310 are now part of Nokia India Website; Launch Seems Imminent
As seen in the images above, both Nokia 5.3 and Nokia 5310 can now be found on the Nokia.com India product page along with their live shots. This clearly hints that the Nokia 5.3 and Nokia 5310 smartphones will be launched in India first, and the Nokia 1.3 and Nokia 8.3 5G smartphones will likely launch later on, if at all they are supposed to launch. The reason as to why we are not so sure about the Nokia 1.3 launch in India is the fact that it is an entry-level handset and the company aims to tap into emerging markets like Africa with it. Nokia 5310, on the other hand, could very well become a thing in India considering that feature phones still sell pretty well in the country and the nostalgic factor behind the Xpress Music device could also come into play.
Coming to the specifications of the Nokia 5.3 smartphone, the device is equipped with a 6.55-inch HD+ display with a 20:9 aspect ratio. A waterdrop notch at the top of the display makes room for an 8MP selfie shooter. Moving around on the back of the device, the Nokia 5.3 sports a quadruple rear camera setup, which consists of a 13MP primary lens, a 5MP secondary camera, a 2MP macro lens, and a 2MP depth sensor.
Powering the Nokia 5.3 is an octa-core Qualcomm Snapdragon 665 mobile platform, which is paired with 3GB/4GB/6GB of RAM and 64GB of internal storage. Internal storage has scope for expansion with the help of an external SD card. Speaking of the battery of the device, the Nokia 5.3 is fueled by a 4,000mAh battery, which, sadly, comes with 10W of fast charging, so those of you who want fast charging on their device might be slightly disappointed. That being said, the company has claimed that the nokia 5.3 won’t need to be charged too often and one full charge will easily get you through two days of usage. Let’s see how that fares in real life, but the claims are promising, at least on paper.
As far as software is concerned, the Nokia 5.3 ships with the latest Android 10 OS out of the box, with Nokia’s promise of at least three years of regular Android updates, so the Nokia 5.3 appears to be at least future-safe from the updates perspective.
