HMD Global has unveiled the Nokia 5.4 globally. The new mid-range smartphone from Nokia comes as a successor to the Nokia 5.3, which was launched earlier this year in India. Nokia 5.4 comes with upgraded specifications and a slightly improved design. The mid-range smartphone comes with a 6.39-inch hole-punch LCD, a Qualcomm Snapdragon 662 processor, and a 48MP quad-camera setup. Nokia has launched the smartphone for EUR 189, which roughly translates to Rs 16,900 in India. There is no word on the India availability or pricing details of the device in India. Nokia 5.4 is yet another mid-range offering from HMD Global. The smartphone has been launched for EUR 189, which roughly translates to Rs 16,900 in India. We can expect the device to soon launch in India.


Nokia 5.4 specifications

The device comes with a polycarbonate back in Polar White and Dusk colour options. The rear panel has a circular cutout for a quad-camera setup. It includes a 48MP primary camera sensor, paired with a 5MP ultrawide shooter. The camera module also includes a 2MP macro camera and another 2MP sensor for depth mapping. Nokia claims that the quad-camera unit on the device offers 0 percent shutter-lag.

When shooting in ‘Cinema’ mode, the camera will record videos in captures 24fps and allows users to shoot content in 21:9 cinematic format. The camera also comes with support for 60fps video recording, which is claimed to be three times the film industry standard.

Under the hood, the device comes equipped with a Qualcomm Snapdragon 662 processor. It is paired with 4GB and 6GB of RAM, coupled with 64GB and 128GB of internal memory. Nokia will be offering the smartphone in 4GB/ 64GB, 4GB/128GB, and 6GB/ 64GB storage configurations, depending on the market.

The device also sports a 6.39-inch HD+ LCD. It has a hole-punch cutout on the upper left corner for the 16MP front camera sensor. The smartphone has fairly thin bezels, except the chin, which is reasonably thick.

It comes with a rear-mounted fingerprint scanner and face unlock for biometric authentication. 

There is also a 4,000 mAh battery packed inside the Nokia 5.4. Unlike the competition which offers 18W fast charging, the device comes with a standard 10W charger via USB Type-C.

Nokia 5.4 runs on Android 10 out of the box. Being an Android One device, the smartphone will get two years of major software upgrades and security updates for three years.
