HMD Global is about to hold a smartphone launch event in India on June 6, and it is expected to be for the debut of the Nokia 6.2. Ahead of launch, the price of the upcoming smartphone has allegedly been leaked because of a prematurely launched Google advertisement. If the advert is to be believed, the Nokia 6.2 will be priced at INR 18,999 for its 4GB RAM variant.

Google is known to push ads it deems relevant when users search for something. Apparently, a user went ahead with a Google search related to Nokia, and the search engine accidentally showed them a Google Ad campaign for the Nokia 6.2. We tried to recreate this search query and could not get the same result. Perhaps the early release of the ad was noticed by someone in charge, resulting in it being pulled.

If in case the leaked ad is real and the Nokia 6.2 will indeed be priced at INR 18,999, we are worried the phone will be overshadowed in this overly competitive market. Many rumors have suggested that the Nokia 6.2 could bear resemblance to the Nokia X71 which launched in China in April of this year. If the former indeed carries specifications similar to that offered on the Nokia X71, an INR 18,999 price tag does not look like a reasonable proposition.

Nokia 6.2 Expected Specifications

If the Nokia 6.2 indeed launched as a rebranded Nokia X71, expect the phone to offer a 6.39-inch LCD PureDisplay with a Full HD+ resolution and a 19.5:9 aspect ratio. Under the hood, the phone will run an old Snapdragon 660 AIE chipset with a CPU that is clocked at 2.2GHz. Based on the leaked ad, the base variant of the phone will offer 4GB of RAM. This would likely be paired with 64GB of storage space. The should be a microSD card slot for further storage expansion. By default, the phone will run stock Android 9.0 Pie,

The back of the Nokia 6.2 is expected to feature a triple camera setup. The primary sensor here is a 48MP camera with an f/1.8 aperture. As is common with Nokia, expect Zeiss lenses to be used on this sensor. The second camera being used on this phone measures 8MP and will come in handy for ultra-wide shots. As for the third camera, we have a 5MP depth sensor with an f/2.4 aperture. The front of the phone could come with a 16MP camera for selfies. The smartphone will offer a rear-mounted fingerprint scanner and should feature a 3.5mm headphone jack. The battery on the phone could measure 3500mAh, and support 18w fast charging over USB Type-C.
