Gradually over the past few years, Nokia has succeeded in the recreating a space for itself in the current smartphone market. The HMD Global led Finnish brand has launched many a phone over the years, but their upcoming Nokia 9 is one of the most anticipated devices. While information regarding the upcoming Nokia flagship is scanty, news regarding an all-new Nokia X7 smartphone has cropped up on the web.

The Nokia X7 will succeed the Nokia 7 Plus. The latter went on sale in India back in August and has been pretty popular among consumers. It is essentially the global variant of the Nokia X6 that launched in China earlier this year. Just like in the previous occasion, the alleged Nokia X7 is said to go on exclusively in China first, and thereafter launch globally as the Nokia 7.1 Plus.

Nokia X7: Images Leaked

Recently, a few leaked images of the Nokia X7 was spotted on Chinese search engine platform Baidu. The images showcase the back of the Nokia X7 aka Nokia 7.1 Plus in all its glory. Additionally, the images reveal that the Nokia X7 will come in black and silver color hues. Nokia X7: Specifications, Features

Earlier this week, the front panels of both the Nokia 7.1 Plus and the Nokia 9 went live on Weibo. The images coming from an alleged factory line in China confirm that both the devices will miss out on a display notch. Instead, the display panels on either of the smartphone would simply feature a 19:9 aspect ratio with rounded corners and thicker than usual bezels on all four sides. The implementation while not being premium will surely attract notch haters. With that said, another report coming from China reveal the Nokia X7 to sport a notch, hence, it too early to confirm either of the leaks. Moreover, the Nokia X7 is said to retain the Full HD+ resolution as seen in its predecessor.

Nokia 7.1 Plus

The newly leaked images of the Nokia X7 further reveal the presence of a dual rear camera setup on the upcoming smartphone. For those unaware, the Nokia 9 flagship that’s rumored to be announced alongside the Nokia X7 will reportedly feature not two, but five rear cameras. The exact implementation of the setup is, however, not known yet.

Industry tipsters believe that the Nokia X7 aka. Nokia 7.1  Plus will come powered with a Qualcomm Snapdragon 710 octa-core processor, thereby giving it a major boost in terms of performance. The current generation Nokia X6 apparently comes with a Snapdragon 660 octa-core mobile platform. In fact, the alleged Nokia 7.1 Plus codenamed the Pheonix was spotted on a Foxconn’s website data confirming the alleged specs of the phone. The leaked prototype images of the Nokia X7 further reveal the presence of a circular fingerprint sensor on the back of the device.

Nokia X7: Rumoured Price, Launch Date

Despite various leaks circulating on the web, HMD Global hasn’t come out with any official timeline for launching the two new smartphones. From what its seems, the Nokia X7 and Nokia 9 won’t be going live before the end of this year, or maybe the Finnish firm may end up opting for the Q1 2018 for launching these devices. Moreover, we hardly have any information regarding the price of these Nokia handsets as of yet but expect news to roll out as the launch date inches closer.
