With the Nokia 5.1 Plus going on sale today, on October 01 there is more exciting news in store for all the Nokia lovers. HMD Global has sent press invitations for a Nokia announcement event which is scheduled for October 11 which may mean that the Nokia 7.1 Plus is round the corner.
Android One-Powered Nokia 7.1 Plus Launch On October 11
With the beginning of the festive season in the country, it is highly likely that the company will complete the portfolio by adding a higher-end smartphone after the success of the Nokia 5.1 Plus and Nokia 6.1 Plus. Based on the press invitation shared by HMD PR Team, the Android One-powered Nokia 7.1 Plus is possibly the best bet.
Recently, we saw the major specifications and images of Nokia 7.1 Plus being revealed on TENNA certification platform which indicates that the announcement of the Nokia 7.1 Plus on the October 11 event may be more than a mere speculation.
Nokia 7.1 Plus: What We Know So Far
Earlier, we reported on the leaked images of the Nokia 7.1 Plus which was apparently spotted on the Chinese search engine platform, Baidu. The leaked images of the device suggest a metal chassis sandwiched between two glass slabs and a rear-mounted fingerprint sensor.
And now as the Nokia TA-1131 passed the TENAA certification, it almost revealed all the major specifications. Judging by the 6.18-inch notched display with Full HD+ resolution and an aspect ratio of 19:9, the device may be the Nokia 7.1 Plus.
What we got to know more was that the smartphone is backed by a 3300mAh battery, sports a 13MP+12MP dual rear camera setup at the back and a 20MP frontal imaging unit. The device will be powered by an octa-core Snapdragon 710 chipset which is clocked at 2.2GHz and is expected to be available in two storage variants; 4GB/64GB and 6GB/128GB. Storage on the device is expected to be expanded further up to 400GB via microSD card.
For connectivity, the phone could come with a USB Type-C port and have support for up to 18W charging for 3400mAh battery. TENAA listing of the phone revealed that it will measure 154.8×75.76×7.97mm.
Besides, the handset will come in three colour options Red, Blue and Silver. Further, the device will could run Android 8.1 Oreo out of the box while HMD Global could be signing up for Google’s Android One program that will ensure timely updates for the device. The first major update will be for Android 9.0 Pie. The Nokia 7.1 Plus will feature a fingerprint scanner at the rear.
Expected Pricing For Nokia 7.1 Plus
As of now, there are no indications about the pricing details of either of the models. However, judging by the specifications, it can be safely assumed that the Nokia 7.1 Plus should be price somewhere near the Rs. 35,000 mark. The leaks about the phone revealed that it could come with a price tag of 399 euros that converts to Rs 33,680.
