Nokia 8, Nokia 6 and Nokia 5 gets the November Security Patch
HMD Global is finally pushing the November Android security update to its budget Nokia 6, Nokia 5 and flagship Nokia 8. However, the update is hitting to some markets only. The update only brings the latest security patch. All three devices started receiving this update in India. In Pakistan and Netherlands, the update is available only to the flagship Nokia 8. HMD Global might soon push the update to other devices and other markets. If you still haven’t received the update, then you should head over to Settings -> System Update. Since it is a security patch only, the update is not that heavy in size. For Nokia 5, the OTA update size is just 103.3 MB. On the other hand, the update size for Nokia 6 and Nokia 8 is 109.9 MB and 61.8 MB respectively.
For the last couple of months, Nokia has been consistent in terms of releasing monthly OTA updates. The company is clearly living up to its promise of regular updates. To support that statement, HMD Global has already confirmed the Android 9.0 Pie update for Nokia 3, 5, 6 and 8 smartphones. Although, the exact timeline of this update is still unknown. The recently launched Nokia 6.1 Plus is already on the latest Pie update. More Nokia smartphones will soon get the stable Pie update.
