HMD Global is expected to launch two smartphones on December 5. While one of the devices has been previously launched in China, the other is a new addition to the lineup. We are talking about the Nokia X7, which still doesn’t have an official off-China name. The second device in question is the Nokia 9 PureView that will feature a Penta-camera set up at the back. While there’s is still time for the devices to come out, a trusted retailer of the smartphone maker has listed the accessories of the upcoming devices on its website.

Mentioned under the name, Nokia 9 PureView and Nokia Phoenix aka Nokia X7, there are cases matching the devices. There are flip covers and a crystal case for the Nokia Phoenix, while a Hybrid crystal case with 5 cut-outs at the back for five cameras is associated with the Nokia 9 PureView.

Nokia 9 PureView Might Launch on December 5 in Dubai

The launch event will be taking place at Dubai on December 5, and we are hoping the company reveals both the smartphones alongside each other. While the Nokia X7 is out in the open, the Nokia 9 PureView has surfaced occasionally only. Earlier rumors hinted that the device will come out sometime next year, but it looks like we don’t have to wait for that long. Now that the accessories have been listed on a trusted Nokia retail source, we can expect to see the device to make use of them soon, say December 5.

The earlier renders have informed us of the Penta-camera setup at the rear of the Nokia 9 PureView. We don’t know the exact specifications of the lenses yet, but we do know there will be a wide-angle lens, telephoto lens, depth-sensing unit, among the other lenses to process the images. The smartphone will be backed by the Carl Zeiss optics, which doesn’t come as a surprise. The renders also suggest that the Nokia 9 PureView will host a single camera unit at the front. This is a little strange and quite possibly a fluke. Let’s see if there’s any truth to this one at the event or we might just get another leak before the device officially comes out.

Nokia 9 PureView Expected Specifications

Codenamed as ‘Olympic’, the Nokia 9 PureView is rumored to feature a dual glass design sandwiched by a metal frame. The device could also support wireless charging. Speaking of, HMD Global has certified two wireless chargers suggesting a potential release of new smartphones that support wireless charging.

Coming back to the Nokia 9 PureView, the smartphone was earlier spotted on the FIH update server, running the Android 9 Pie. A lot of Nokia devices have got the Android 9 Pie beta updates and three of them are running the stable OS build. The launch timing strongly points that the Nokia 9 PureView might ship with the latest Android 9 Pie.

Furthermore, the smartphone is expected to feature a USB Type-C port, and there will be no 3.5mm headphone jack. On the display front, the Nokia 9 PureView could sport a humble 5.9-inch QHD display with an aspect ratio of 18:9. Under the hood, there will be Qualcomm Snapdragon 845 processor, possibly mated to 8GB of RAM and 128GB of onboard storage. The device could be powered by a massive 4,150mAh battery and the device is expected to be water and dust resistance. Strangely, there is no fingerprint sensor.
