Five 12MP Rear Cameras On Nokia 9 PureView With ZEISS Optics
The Nokia 9 PureView has a total of five rear-facing cameras (two RGB sensors and three monochrome sensors), each using a 12MP sensor (1/2.9-inch, F1.8, 1.25µm pixels), and featuring ZEISS optics. Users can capture still images with all the five sensors simultaneously. There’s an additional 3D ToF (Time of Flight) camera sensor as well for capturing more accurate depth information. At the front, the Nokia 9 PureView has a 20MP selfie camera with HDR and 4K 30fps video recording.
Low-light performance is another area where the Nokia 9 PureView claims to impress, thanks to the inclusion of monochrome sensors as well as wide apertures. HMD Global is claiming that the penta-lens camera setup can capture up to 10 times more light when compared to a regular smartphone camera sensor. Users will also be able to adjust the depth-of-field after a shot has been taken within Google Photos. The phone can also capture 4K HDR videos at 30fps.
Nokia 9 PureView Has 5.99-inch P-OLED HDR10 PureDisplay
The smartphone features an 18:9 aspect ratio display with relatively thick top and bottom bezels compared to most recent Android flagship smartphones. The smartphone’s PureDisplay display panel will measure 5.99-inches diagonally with 2K resolution and HDR10 compliance. While the smartphone will not have razor-thin bezels, it will sport an in-display fingerprint sensor, a feature that we have not seen on any Nokia-branded smartphone so far.
The Nokia flagship smartphone is not significantly different from the current Nokia 8 Sirocco in terms of design. The smartphone has a glass back, a Gorilla Glass 5 at the front, and a solid metal frame in the middle. Thanks to the glass back, Nokia 9 PureView will offer Qi wireless charging support. The phone is IP67-certified for dust and water resistance.
Nokia 9 PureView Is Also An Android One Smartphone, Snapdragon 845 SoC, 3320mAh Battery
Unsurprisingly, the Nokia 9 PureView will be an Android One smartphone and will run on the Android 9 Pie operating system at launch. Being a part of the Android One program means the smartphone is guaranteed to receive OS upgrades for up to two years. Along with OS upgrades, Android One smartphones also receive regular security updates from the manufacturer. The phone uses Qualcomm’s Snapdragon 845 processor, 6GB RAM, and 128GB of internal storage.
The Nokia 9 PureView does not feature a 3.5mm headphone jack, but the phone has a dual-SIM card slot, dual-4G LTE, dual-VoLTE, GNSS (A-GPS + GLONASS), Wi-Fi b/g/n/ac, Wi-Fi Direct, Bluetooth 5.0, NFC, and a USB 3.1 Type-C port. The Nokia 9 PureView is powered by a 3320mAh battery and it can be rapidly charged with 18W Quick Charge 3.0, 18W USB PD or 10W Qi wireless charging.
